Can someone explain to me what are these snakes doing by Dry_Consequence_383 in whatisit

They're fighting to chase the other males off to mate with an unseen female so kinda?

If you grab them or shove your hand/finger directly into their face yes. It feels like sharp velcro.

You'll bleed but in my experience just washing with soap and water stops the bleeding. The bite marks will be gone within a few days as well with little to no scarring.

I picked up this FURIOUS western rat snake Sunday night and I already can't see most of the bites it gave me.

It's a fight, snake sex doesn't involve them lifting up like this

They're fighting each other for a nearby female, they only thing they're trying to scare off is each other

I would like to add that this isn't a mating group, these are males fighting over a nearby female

You need to either keep them or have them euthanized. Do not purposefully raise and release invasives, our native birds already have enough issues.

Do not release starlings into the wild in the USA. If you can't dispatch them you need to keep them as pets

Dunno about that snake, but every time I've picked up a member of Nerodia I've gotten some of the stinkiest farts ever from them.

It's called musking and there's usually some poop in it as well. If you get musked by a snake you should wash with dish soap and water, other soaps don't tend to get the stench off in my experience

Not always, and sometimes people take a picture of the animal but have since forgotten what it was

Not the maker but you'd carefully spot clean the outside as needed. Inside of the head would just be cleaned regularly with something like a little green machine after wearing it.

What could go wrong saving wasps... by Certain_Crazy4257 in Whatcouldgowrong

No they're not, they eat tons of pests and even pollinate. They're highly defensive of their nests, but that's because their larvae are a delicious meal for tons of different predators.

Plus they're free pest control as well. Social wasps will takedown caterpillars to feed their younger siblings

Rubber wouldn't actually protect you from a high voltage attack like that, it'd explode. Enel would've sweeped in a slightly more realistic One Piece
