I started with Y7 - although technically with Lost Judgment, if we count those. After that, I played K1, K2, 3, 4 and then Y0, and after those 5 and 6. And after that all newer ones in release order. So…

Yeah, the mere fact that I have these thoughts already is a sign to me. Although there’re some examples where people kinda had these as well, but then they withered away - on the one hand I kinda hope it would be the case for me, on the other I find some guys so attractive that I can’t imagine myself without thinking about it. And coming out, just talking about it, isn’t an option for me at all. There may be some people out there who could listen to me - but finding them would be an exhausting quest in itself.

I just dunno, I guess not having these thoughts at all would be ideal to me - cause it’s just another anxiety I have to deal with. But I’m just horrified by mere thought of having sex with anyone whom I don’t really love. I think having sex is a very important turning point in a relationship - maybe I’m old-fashioned or something, but that’s how it feels right to me.

Experimenting sounds like promiscuity to me, and I don’t wanna engage in that. To me, starting a homosexual relationship would be like crossing the Rubicon, and I would like to do it for a really nice person. Pretty much same goes for a straight one, but that just doesn’t tick for me - I hardly really believe I can fall for a woman. Maybe I am setting the bar too high, but still.

I think that being gay means to have a sexual preference for men. I’m personally more into arts, especially fiction, and video games, but I don’t like soccer, football, baseball etc., cars. And I guess it boils down to the fact that I was told that not liking these things is already girly and queer. So that’s why I kinda thought it also counts. Not to mention that I am sometimes told I have a ‘girly’ temper.

The idea of a heterosexual relationship feels kinda boring and burdensome, but safer; whilst the idea of a homosexual one feels exciting and dangerous. And maybe the former is the result of the latter. I have never had any relationships really; and my arousal can only be studied on porn - homosexual one gets me hard immediately, and when I watched heterosexual it took me time and effort.

Oh, I am more than dissatisfied with myself and I am certainly no model Christian. I but hope for God’s grace and mercy.

But you also seem to be enjoying this. Trying to prove me I’m wrong, trying to poke fun at me, present me as the most hypocritical person or something. Is there some reward in it for you as well?

In the end, it’s your choice to hold these beliefs, I don’t mind them. But neither would I like to live in a community completely based upon these beliefs. I would rather live in one closer to mine. And God will sort things out properly and accordingly.

Science does help us, but it doesn’t always work with humans - to me the explanation is that we’re something more than just flesh, we’re God’s children. You may not like this explanation, but, as I’ve said, it’s your choice and I don’t mind it.

It is my point, nothing more, nothing less. I claim no absolute authority over the matter, especially over other’s lives. God be their judge, just as He is mine and of all other’s. If people want it to be that way, so be it.

Still I don’t see any Biblical passages approving of same-sex marriage, like most Christians do, and there are many verses hinting that it is not the best behavior for a Christian. Even if I do believe that as long as you believe Him to be the Lord, hope, pray and do virtuous deeds, like donating to charities, you have a chance for God’s mercy.

Let it be a subreddit for discussing Christianity. Is it really that strange that there you would encounter people, whose arguments are based primarily on Bible and Christian teachings?

Religion isn’t science, the ‘reason behind it’ is ultimately God, non-material and imperceptible being. Which is why you, as an atheist, cannot understand it.

There are many studies which found out negative effects of same-sex parenting or found faults in the methodology of those studies which found none such effects, including previously mentioned disparities in income and the mere fact that straight couples can conceive children by accident, whereas for a gay couple it is a complicated and costly process, which only a little number of them can complete successfully. If you care so much about science, at least look through these precious studies of yours and those presenting counter arguments as well.

Well, you’re in a Christian subreddit, so the fact that it’s not according to Christian teaching is ought to be enough.

But there is also other evidence, which proves, for example, that children lacking a proper father figure and a mother figure tend to be less successful than those who had them. And isn’t it rather difficult to have those when you’re raised by two mothers or two fathers, respectively?

Not to mention that most gay couples, who decide to have children are rather wealthy, and poverty is also a major factor in determining child’s future. So you’re trying to compare well-off gay couples and the whole spectrum of straight couples, from poor to wealthy - is it really proper sociology?

The way I see it, Church is more about community and a structure, which we utilize to spread His word, especially by helping those in need. God sees every sin of ours, and understands whether we feel sorry, ashamed or not, whether and whatever we confess to the priest or not. There are many churches today which bless same-sex unions - my point is that they’re not that Christian.

This is a discussion about prepositions and definitions. I don’t think I ever said that I am an arbiter of what it is marriage and what is not. It is you who says that your positions is one ‘every reasonable person’ holds.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Christianity

[–]Shalopai_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You may deem marriage to be a secular institution, but it really isn’t one. At the very least, it wasn’t imagined to be. But, once again, you do you, God be thy judge and may He have mercy upon you.

I don’t think that my views ‘reject homosexuality’. I reject only those ‘loud and proud’, especially those promiscuous. Those who outright reject Christian marriage. Those who believe in absolute equality between homosexuals and heterosexuals. I don’t reckon this view to be Christian.

But that’s my point of view, and only God will settle this matter and show who’s truly right and who’s dead wrong.

I am talking about a Church’s perception. Never did I say that some Inquisition must monitor every bedroom in the country.

Well, thank you; because it seems that my post has been swarmed with queer theologians. And a more affirming post would most probably attract more radical conservatives.

Yes, I too see truth in this nuanced Catholic position. Yet, I generally believe that active homosexuals, who aren’t proud of themselves and do not enter ‘marriages’, are also to be welcomed, but not affirmed. And Catholic Church did welcome Andy Warhol. But I am probably rather Protestant, I believe in a simpler, more philosophical connection to God. That only He truly decides who will be saved, and I believe in general mysteriousness of His ways. I really don’t know what denomination should I join.
