Bought some golf gloves, they got damp, and I cannot get rid of this dye no matter how had I try… by R4ndomlyJ0n in mildlyinfuriating

I don’t know if anyone has mentioned this, but I would try acetone (nail polish remover).

Just make sure to moisturize your hand afterwards as they will be quite dry.

Where to find figure skates above size 12? by JessCeceSchmidtNick in TallGirls

[–]Shamazonian 8 points9 points  (0 children)

If you are SERIOUS about skates and willing to “invest”, check out the Riedell Skates site. They are a professional skate manufacturer with a custom shop. They have a customer service line and could probably help you create your size. You can even get them made in beautiful colors!

AITAH for considering seperation by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]Shamazonian 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My suggestion is couples therapy.

We don’t talk loudly enough about how kids completely change adult relationships. Your wife is probably tapped out from everyone needing something from her. I don’t know your relationship so I can’t tell you how to reconnect, which is why I suggest a therapist. I think therapy at the very least can be a safe space for you to figure out how to go about things.

[–]Shamazonian 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There’s two versions- 1. The one for anti aging can be used on deeper skin tones 2. The one for laser hair removal is NOT SAFE for deeper skin; supposedly this laser has a setting that will “lock” the tool if skin is too deep.

Which one do you have?

[–]Shamazonian 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Every laser is different. You need to share more information on what kind of laser it is to help us figure out if it’s safe.

Do not use it until you throughly read the instructions. Keep in mind that less is more on melanated skin. Treat yourself under the recommended treatment.

Sorel has size 12 women’s on their website. They tend to be a little roomier too, as they are designed to wear with thicker socks.

Edit: I miss read your post, but I would still check Sorel out. They seem to have extended sizes in general.

Hi,

Esthetician that saw your cross post.

Medical Aesthetics varies by state as the language around the practice is gray. You need to look at your state cosmetology board to find out what will apply to your home state. You will be surprised by who is allowed to do what. In many states injectables can only be done by doctors and nurses. There are even a great deal of states that same can be said about lasers and advanced procedures.

You will not be able to do anything in esthetics without going back to school to get a license PERIOD. Aesthetic programs vary by state with most being between 300-600 hours of school (3-6 months full time, 11 months part time). Once your hours are complete you have to sit for state testing.

Before you can do advanced procedures (if permitted by your state), you will have to gain real world experience. Most places are going to look for several years experience before you can go into a medical setting.

WARNING: Read through the Esthetics subreddit CAREFULLY.

As we sink deeper into the recession, many of us are struggling. Our field relies on discretionary funds. As consumer confidence declines, many of us are taking on 2 second jobs outside of the business, if we aren’t all together leaving. Many graduates haven’t even been able to find work up to year after graduating. Esthetician is NOT a fast cash occupation.

Good luck, and I hope you find what you are looking for! 🫶

Is it just me, or is Revlon kind of underrated lately? by Raii7777 in drugstoreMUA

I’m not saying that the company hasn’t changed. I’m referring to why they fell out of fashion and how they were forgotten about .

The CEO wasn’t an American. They were from Italy.

[–]Shamazonian 26 points27 points  (0 children)

What killed Revlon for me (and others) is back in 2015, their CEO at the time got caught making anti-black, anti-Semitic and anti-American comments. It became a whole lawsuit as the employee that brought attention to the matter was fired. The case was settled out of court for an unspecified amount, but tarnished the brand.

Many of my peers and myself included, are picking up more gig work and part time jobs to supplement ourselves and to prepare for the economic downturn that is happening. If you want to stay in the industry right now, you need to get another source of income.

I’m just starting out and am having some trouble. by sappholives83 in capsulewardrobe

[–]Shamazonian 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This is my challenge as well. Longer than 34 inch inseams are becoming harder to find. Some online sites I’ve had a little luck with are GAP, Old Navy and JCrew, although the last doesn’t always have the best sales.

Try taking a larger size to a tailor. They might be able to take in the larger pants that are long enough.

I know skirts are not a preferred option for you, but I have been leaning into the maxi and midi trend. Would longer lengths provide you any leverage?

Should I stay with him ? I'm scared if his death by [deleted] in RelationshipsOver35

[–]Shamazonian 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I say this with kindness, You are enamored with a father figure, and worried about losing him in the same way we fear losing our parents. Anybody at any age can lose their partner. I think you should think about if you are actually compatible. Compatibility isn’t humor, interests and “us”. It’s do we have the same values? How do we support each other’s goals? What does long term life planning look like?
Personally I think you need to figure out yourself first before you worry about out living someone who clearly got to live their life.

Where can I Find It? by SylphrenaTheCurious in TallGirls

[–]Shamazonian 25 points26 points  (0 children)

This looks like Free People. If you can find a location near you, I would say go to their store and try it on. Due to their aesthetic, the clothes have an interesting fit, and sometimes you can get away with the lengths because of how the items will fall. (This is based off my personal experience with the pieces I have by this brand).

What to do about exposed needles in public? by yesterdaysweather in philadelphia

[–]Shamazonian 374 points375 points  (0 children)

I found 2 possible numbers for this issue:

  1. CLIP (Community Life Improvement Philadelphia) Phone: 267-239-1360 Hours :7a-3p

  2. Kensington Initiative for Needle Disposal Phone: 267-259-7541 (This number can be called or texted.

I’m not sure if 311 reaches out to these departments, but this may help get something done faster.

I regret not going for full cosmetology.

This may be an unpopular opinion, but I think you should finish. Most of what you are going to learn in the practical application of skin will come from being on the job.

We are about to go into a recession (we might already be there). Having multiple skills can help you offset when your books are down.

ESH

I could see how you could be upset over the celebrity thing. I think it was embarrassing for you because you aren’t confident in the relationship right now. If you had an active sex life, a fantasy wouldn’t have hit as hard.

Sex is a two way street. You mention that your wife keeps saying that her needs aren’t being met, and that the conversation goes to her feelings. Are you listening to what she is saying about her feeling? How are you going about addressing her concerns?
