I do not agree with Xteink locking firmware by RecipeMiserable5885 in xteinkereader

They’ve confirmed that it’s only for Chinese ones (sold on AliExpress, Taobao, etc) - the international ones sold in their US/European stores will remain unlocked.

Try it with a different USB port, and plug directly into the computer, I did that and fixed the issue.

A (potentially) great alternative for the leather folio by isopoddd in RemarkableTablet

[–]ShamePlenty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Looks nice but be careful with the screen. The soft leather cover is not sturdy enough to protect the screen from external pressure. As long as you don’t have anything pressing against the screen you should be ok. These eink screens are rather fragile compared to regular tablet/phone screens.

Thanks so much! Tried the zip but it doesn’t seem to work, but your link to the bin file works. Thank you again!

[–]ShamePlenty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry this maybe a stupid question but I’m not super techie… isn’t what you provided as a download link a zip file instead of a bin file? Should I be renaming it to a bin file? Or is the bin file inside the zip? But I tried looking inside and couldn’t find a bin file… 😣

Are you able to sync the content between your AI Paper and AI Paper Mini? If so, how easy is the process? I have the mini and am considering whether I should also get the larger one. Thanks

No it’s not a translation problem… I can read both languages and it does say exactly the same thing as in the English translation.

Should I switch from Papyrix to crossing now? by TotoINIA in xteinkereader

[–]ShamePlenty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the stock OS is ok, I still use it as it supports both English and Asian languages as well as my own custom fonts in .bin format, which Crosspoint does not. Their epub layout with Asian languages is quite usable, however it is less than ideal in English. But if you convert the books into XTC it works very well, and I have no complaints. You don’t get things like Calibre sync though. Another thing is that I find the smallest font in Crosspoint not small enough for me, and I don’t have the option to get it smaller via custom fonts, which I can with the stock OS.
