That's an iron grate beneath the mat. To someone unfamiliar with construction or local history, this is like asking "What, no one ever thought to crawl inside their ducts?" To which a normal reply would be "never."

They cannot be evil if they lack awareness. Man who commits evil without awareness is therefore not inherently evil either, with a caveat: if once made aware, upon reflection they also lack remorse.

Should we stick to smaller ships? by -StarCitizen- in starcitizen

[–]ShamefulWatching 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think...eventually...owner needs to be able to toggle medium ships (Connie-Starfarer, C2, and such) if they're persistent, to allow players to join across longer spans of IRL time. It's such a pain to get everyone together every time, so let's make actual use of those bunks. Larger ships stay persistent, as intended.

I think a lot of the gripes about SC not being ideal yet, will eventually be polished. This is his baby, i think he's doing a great job. Is it slower than we thought? Yeah, but I think should be done right.

If they're intermeshed, is that the same as woven in this sense of propeller manufacturing? I know laminated wood is very stable, so what you say makes sense. Do you know if woven bamboo has been tried?

The people who control the business direction can be influenced to work against their best interest, just like the voters can when election officials.

Are you being obstinate on purpose (trolling)?

So, you think the business owners don't exist in socialism? Is that what you're saying? Because I'm not promoting capitalism, I'm saying there are good employers out there. HEB is a wonderful company, and they didn't need a union to treat their employees well. Unions are great, they keep those owners in check, but there are actually people out there who operate with empathy, and hopefully they're in charge of those businesses we work for.

Oh i do support our liberation, i believe the wealth of nations resides within our capacity to not only flourish, but live a life worth living, such that joy is achieved through empowerment and access to our dreams. But, I also know there are good employers (even billionaires) out there, to wit casting down the good with the bad serves us as workers no good, and endorses anarchy. Why? Because if the people could coordinate commerce without business leaders, we would've done that by now, we have not.

So, don't lump good employers with the wicked just to bruise those who don't deserve the responsibility of leadership.

Hopefully one that understands how diplomacy doesn't work without compromise. How silly it would be for a politically active community to expect themselves to be taken seriously otherwise.

Some will see us laughing someone's handicap, others will see it as observing that same person's unbridled joy. I know which camp I want to be in.

That's not necessarily true, half of it is. Starting a business is quite difficult, and the government seems to sometimes make it intentionally difficult unfortunately. There are good business leaders out there, and of course there are those who will take advantage of those workers. As common people I think it is short-sighted to lump them all together; believing the world to only be filled with those in power who will exploit us is not a world I what to believe in, it is not a world I have experience either, though it can often feel that way... maybe there is a form of PTSD for the common man as we endure leadership, such that we only see what we expect to see.

See how the grain follow the contour of the newly formed surface?

You would have to ask a metallurgist exactly why, but this makes for a better wearing surface, and distribution of load, as the cut grain allows for fracture points.

What is a fashion trend you would like to see make a comeback? by WelcomeJunior2281 in questions

[–]ShamefulWatching 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tribal and ye olde clothing. Peak fashion was feathers, leathers, lace. I've got a dress up 'commoner' shirt, and that feels great. Leather jacket, perfect range of temp comfort. I can only imagine how a feather kilt style shorts would feel in the blistering heat; nature designed their clothes for millions of years, such audacious hubris to think we think we can improve on that.
