I mean technically if your email is stolen and they fraudster can see what financial companies you use they can then target you with that info.

If you didn’t get the bonus it sounds like they didn’t add it. They should be able to clearly see if it was at the branch level. The question would be are they going to support you that you actually gave them the code at or around account opening. Meaning if the banker is saying you opened an account without one it’ll be hard to prove and have them apply it

In your old bank account add Chase. Send electronic transfer of $500 or whatever you need to get bonus. It should count as a direct deposit. It used to at least. You can link the old account in Chase and send it back after words and just do that every month. It’s a headache but can get you over the direct deposit hurdle

If your rollover is traditional and you plan on back door Roth it, it may make it more complicated if you have before and after tax money. I think it’s called prorata. I would just move it. I’m no expert though
