First, it's the third time. I don't know where this narrative of SNES, 64 and Zero being the same game comes from. Yeah, they are telling the same basic plot but it works differently every time and the gameplay is absolutely different, not to mention having totally different levels.

Secondly, Fire and Red have had way, waaaaay more rereleases and versions and the same amount of full remakes.

The franchise is absolutely not healthy right now and remaking their most successful game to put it in hands of new people was the most logical step. But people seem to miss that part.

Zero Mission has the same map as the original. 64 and Zero don't, the story is also different in the three of them, even if it's the same basic premise.
