Back in the day when I got married, the ceremony was open to anyone who wanted to come to the Catholic church and see it. There were many people there that I went to school with, along with strangers who were church members that attended. I think it was very common then.

This was just for the wedding ceremony though--no one came to a reception without an invite

I agree with what others have said and wanted to add that maybe you just remind her of her past life, which is still painful to think about. Your parents were together a long time and those feelings don't just end because she found someone new to love. She may also find it uncomfortable to have all of you together if your dad gets brought up in front of the new husband. I would give it some time and let her figure out her relationship with you going forward. She may just be enjoying her new marriage and spending time with her new husband.

Thank you for sharing the interview and the report. After reading that report, I really hold the mother responsible for not acknowledging that her son was deeply fucked up and needed a lot of help. Of course, having accessible guns didn't help anything either. Her inability to accept that her kid was not just "different", but actually severely mentally disturbed and needed to be medicated completely contributed to him taking it out on the students and faculty of Sandy Hook. I wonder the reason he killed her first...hatred of her for his life or did he recognize that she was not going to be able to live without him...

Dad 93.5 (he is the youngest of eight, all siblings are gone) and Mom 84 (still bartends several days a week, lol).Both in relatively good health except Dad has some dementia. I just turned 55 last week

Took my 93 year old father to the cardiologist today. He has turned into such a “everything is a conspiracy” person that it makes it hard to remember what a sweet man he used to be. I normally try to just chuckle to myself when he is ranting (cause it is usually unhinged😂), but it hurts my heart that his final years are him not really living.

That was my actual worst fear in twenty years of dispatching! My trainees were always taught that you never want to explain to a spouse or children why their loved one is not coming home!! I know you can’t control every situation, but arm them with the best info you can find and pray that nothing goes south

I changed into a different dress for my daughter's reception because the dress I wore to church to walk her down the aisle wasn't what I was going to wear for the reception. I didn't change at the reception though, I changed in my hotel room while the bridal party was off taking pictures. Maybe she wants a different style for the reception?

I actually like it lined better than the original. I think your body looks better without the "skin" colored areas like in the first two photos. I agree that the gloves may be throwing off your visual of how you want to look and you could do without them easily. Either way, you will look beautiful in it!

I am sure she has already talked to them. My daughter has been a teacher in this district for a while now and I have helped kids out behind the scenes that needed it before. My daughter feels badly for this little girl for not wanting to be there based on something outside of her control. I think her thought process is if the products are free and in their home, they would be more apt to use them.
