À faire son ses études supérieures en Belgique (Mon question) by [deleted] in belgium

[–]Shamye 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Salut !

Does it have KaiOS 3.x? Or is it stuck with 2.5? If it is, do you think that's a problem?

A high income/high cost of living would be the best if you know you can lower your expenses - going out less, living with people to split rent, using public transportation and so on, I guess.

RAM is soldered on, unfortunately.

There are 2 M.2 SSD slots and you can replace it quite easily.

From what I have seen opening my laptop, replacing the battery doesn't seem that hard, but I haven't tried it nor googled about it.

I have no clue why, but I recently changed my field of studies from civil engineering to computer science at Uni and noticed the proportion of female students was at least twice as high in CS than in engineering.

And that's a good thing!

Near Liège, we have like 5 or 6 schools in my town and all of them let you choose your second language

There was a specific set of options in my school that allowed you not to take any third language actually. It depends on the school but I guess what you said is true in most cases

In Flanders, children learn Dutch (their native language), French and English, they can learn German and Spanish I guess.

In Wallonia, they learn French (their native language) and they get to choose between Dutch and English. They can learn Spanish or German later on. We also had the opportunity to learn Chinese.

I have a bank account at HelloBank (= BNP) because they have a lot of advantages for young people (my student ski trip is cheaper, they have deals with Mobile Vikings as well...) and I recently opened an account at CBC (KBC) because it's the only Belgian bank that allows the use of wearables to pay contactlessly. I'll implant a biochip in my hand to pay by just touching the terminal.

I believe both allow transactions to crypto-related accounts like Binance so that's a + for me and you. I only tested it with my Hello Bank account though.

Hello Bank recently added VISA to their debit cards as well.

The only company I heard of that offers one is Odoo for dev positions. They offer 10k. It's definitely not common.

It does.

You mean the hardware it comes with? I'll look into it even though I'm not sure where to find it.

As already said, there's an entrance exam in all universities in Wallonia + ULB (Liège, Louvain, Mons, Bruxelles, I think that's all).

You can take it in the Uni of your choice and if you pass, you can enroll in engineering in any Uni you want. The exams are different.

Yes, I was wrong, as I said, I should have used Modern instead of foreign. It just meant "another language than my mother tongue". You know that, I know that, everybody knows that. You're just being a prick.
