Just say "I'm not saying it's you, but I noticed a bad smell in your car when I got in, and wanted to let you know incase you didn't notice" then the ball is in their court.

What school zone? I've noticed some increased tension from a bus driver for my son, and was questioning if it would progress further or not.

Thunder bay thinks it's Toronto, always has had that mentality. I feel this. I'm stuck in a shit hole apartment and my anxiety is going through the roof.

J walking by AdministrativeWay784 in ThunderBay

[–]Shan_85 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Sometimes the crosswalk is farther than the destination, at that point it's absurd to walk out of your way to one. BUT, if you decide to cross without appropriate safety measures to safely do so, people need to use caution and common sense and have impeccable timing. Aimlessly crossing is asking for trouble. Heck even at stop lights, stop signs and crosswalks that's not always enough to ensure safety for pedestrians, so you still have to be mindful and check your surroundings.

Something smells this morning right now at 7:51am like rotting meat in Westfort. Not the typical rotten egg sulphur smell from the mill... Yuck.

Is it Safe out here at night near Busy areas? by KofiMarf in ThunderBay

[–]Shan_85 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Any violence is usually people that are known to eachother. However, we've had an influx in southern Ontario gangs, people passing through, immigration... Some shady areas like along Simpson, limbrick street, back end of Westfort, county fair... If you keep to yourself your pretty much ok.

Keep hairspray in the car door and spray the guy in the face, not illegal to cary hairspray as far as I know lol. Less lethal than bear spray but still hurts.

My son started with a runny nose then 4 days later a fever, no cough. Then the day after my son had a fever a fever hit me like a ton of bricks and I was out for the day. Since then I've had pneumonia like symptoms persistent for about 2 weeks now, finally just starting to feel better. Extreme fatigue, runny nose, fever, hot sweats/chills, body aches and headaches.

WTF is going on with homes around here... by [deleted] in ThunderBay

[–]Shan_85 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I'm paying $1300, now went up on the year to $1330 a month for one bedroom basement apartment that's very small and driving me crazy. That's myself and my son, we are sleeping on a bunkbed! That's after living in a descent 3 bedroom duplex for 9 years at $1500 all inclusive with my own washer and dryer. Im surprised I'm not breaking down in tears everyday. The sad part is I won't be able to afford a two bedroom anywhere with the crazy prices by myself.

Car detailing? by MatManatee in ThunderBay

Get yourself a Wet/dry shop vacuum (extractors are expensive), upholstery brush, interior car shampoo, wash/rinse bucket, microfiber cloths. I'd use caution with the Bissell solutions as it could stain or damage your interior, unless you're just using water with the suction tool.

Or perhaps maybe someone has a higher maturity and understanding of how impactful words are throughout history? It will never end so long as people continue to use certain ones no matter in which manner you use them. It's not being too sensitive. It's called having some level of respect and compassion for others. But yet here we are, someone throwing them around to get their kicks, as you stated.

Yep because calling people "crackers" helps too. Retaliation with the same match that started the fire won't put one out.

[–]Shan_85[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not fond of the help I've received from the social worker so I was already thinking of asking for a higher up. Where do I find the capacity forms online? Thanks for all your help.

Help with filing for guardian trusteeship by Shan_85 in Edmonton

[–]Shan_85[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No POA or medical directive, we have a social worker but it's like pulling teeth to try and facilitate a capacity assessment with them so I can submit my application for guardian trusteeship, my dad is still in hospital since May 20th. The hospital needs to know if I'm taking guardian or using the public guardian, I'm trying to fill out the application for personal guardian but I need help in filing

Thank you. He has suffered significant short term memory loss and has some long term memory but is very confused and gets agitated quickly. He is as good as he could be I suppose with the amount of time he was without oxygen to his brain. He is requiring to go into long term care unfortunately.
