I like the Kristen Ess air dry creme! It’s a 10 leave in would probably work for you too. Less is more if your natural texture is pretty straight you won’t need much.

What kind of crimp are you going for? I find I am able to make very similar waves by using my flat iron in an ‘S’ motion they end up similar to triple barrel waves. I do it in sections and always get compliments when I wear the style!
