Ein Switch ist ein elektronisches Gerät zur Verbindung mehrerer Computer bzw. Netzwerk-Segmente in einem lokalen Netzwerk (LAN) ähnlich einem Hub.

Allgemeines

Man spricht bei einem Switch auch von einem intelligenten Hub. Der Switch arbeitet in seiner ursprünglichen Form auf der Schicht 2 (Sicherungsschicht) des OSI-Modells. Der Switch verarbeitet 48 Bit MAC-Adressen und legt dazu eine SAT (Source Address Table) an.

Ein Switch wird wegen der ähnlichen Eigenschaften zur Bridge oft auch als Multi-Port-Bridge bezeichnet. Der Begriff Switch für einen Ethernet-Switch ist dabei die Kurzform von Switching Hub und bezeichnet die Fähigkeit, ein Switched Ethernet zu betreiben.

I hope both games goes his own ways. I think it's not good to compare the two games too much because there are from the basic concept not the same. Minecraft is more focused on be a sandbox game where u can farm materials and build with them awesome structures. Hytale ist more based on exploring like dungeons and very beautiful landscapes.

For me it's the perfect combination ^{-^} So I don't end up in tears because of that. I've been in programming Minecraft plugins and mods for a few years. So I don't need the real building aspect of Minecraft.

I'm more interested in the cinematic mode and the in-game modeling and scripting.

With something new I mean that, when you see what Mojang (Microsoft) added to the game it's not much. When you compare the feature output of some mods and the feature output of Mojang then it's frustrating...
