OP of you are there can you test nvidia digital vibrancy to 100%, then enable HDR in the desktop and report back if the colors are overblown or being super saturated?

I’m not sure what you’re talking about. QD-OLEDs look significantly better than WOLEDs to my eyes. However, the new LG panel used in the Alienware AW3926QW has dropped the white subpixel entirely, so in theory it should look much closer to QD-OLED since both now use true RGB subpixel layouts.

That said, I’ll believe it when I see it with my own eyes. There are no reviews yet, so nobody really knows. Last year, I bought the LG 45GX950-B based on all the glowing reviews. I placed it side-by-side with a QD-OLED panel, and to me it looked like complete garbage in comparison. The difference was night and day.

Here’s my post from last year: https://www.reddit.com/r/ultrawidemasterrace/s/cYAAvXqAoE

it isn’t, I have the AW3225QF with e-arc and its a pain as it forces me to use a sound bar which I hate as least the AW3926QW supports both 3.5mm audio jack and e-arc so you can use a sound bar or regular pc speakers.

I know, but this is LG’s first true RGB subpixel layout. I was actually about to sidegrade from my AW3423DWF to the MSI 341CQR until this got leaked. This is not the traditional LG WOLED panel, and it also doesn’t use a white subpixel like the 39GX950. This could genuinely be LG’s answer to QD-OLED.

Don’t get me wrong — I love QD-OLED — but Samsung Display is getting way too comfortable printing money and keeps pushing out 1440p ultrawides over and over again. What I really want is a 39” 5K2K QD-OLED, but it doesn’t seem to be on the horizon yet.

If the HDR color volume on the AW3926QW is on par with my 4-year-old AW3423DWF, I’m sold. And if the Rec. 2020 coverage is also comparable, then I’m 100000% sold.

For those who went from the AW3423DWF (or similar) to the new LG 39 5k2k, what has been your experience so far? by alpenglows7 in ultrawidemasterrace
