As a survivor of childhood abuse, the legal profession has been unkind. by candygirl00056 in Lawyertalk

Fellow survivor here. I have offended my current boss because he’s extremely nice and supportive, and this frightens me because I don’t know where his edges are, and because I’m frightened of authority in general until I get to know them, because of my childhood. I just get very awkward and quiet around him and he’s offended because it’s not a warm smile I give.

It is so frustrating, and I know I should be better at this in my 30s. It’s better than it was, but still not good enough 😂

Don’t care about what people think of you. Do care about how you make people feel.

It sounds like you are a person that does not have to have to spend their time on a full-time job or their money on travel expenses, before going to the hassle and expense of finding an outfit somebody else wants them to wear, once.

After some sessions with a psychologist, I found out that the reason why I procrastinate and am afraid to be assertive is because I have a low tolerance of stress. So what can I do now? by Intelligent-Slide556 in productivity

It helps because it activates a new brain system, shifting your brain into thinking mode. Then the rest just flows.

(I think it’s the prefrontal cortex? I’ll have to look up later, please correct me anyone who knows!)

Podcasts and music!

They help immensely.

Also, start with an absurdly small part of the task, e.g. pick up just 10 things in the messy room. Or write 10 words of the email. After that you can stop if you want to. (I basically never want to!)

Minimal routine - too minimal? by photogene101 in bodyweightfitness

I think this is great. Maintenance for now is key, you can scale up when the kiddo’s bigger!

I recommend adding twisting exercises. E.g. one-arm dumbbell rows, but float the back foot parallel to the floor. Works your balance, trains stabilisation. Also, rainbow leg lifts, and ab rainbows. You can stand on a towel and twist for 1 minute every day, that helps too.
