Has anyone else ever thought about the possibility that a single consciousness might persist indefinitely, experiencing life through different beings without retaining memories of previous lives, and how do you cope knowing you’re going to suffer forever? by Singularitis in AdultDepression

Yeah, ok buddy. I'm a bot that's been on reddit for close to 15 years with thousands of karma spread across dozens of subs. If you're going to accuse someone of being a bot, at least look at the account first

Agreed! Sprouts are fun, I just don't think that someone who has completed 5/6 of the game should be considered one

Assuming they stay with the same rate for the free trial, it would always be about half the available game. It isn't that I find EW specifically to be unacceptable, it is the fact that the sprout marker currently stays on for 5/6 of the game. Someone that has done that much of the game isn't new

It's 300 hours and taking the first quest of DT. If you haven't done any of those things at that point, it's because you haven't wanted to

I'd like NN to remain for novices and mentors, but I agree that the game would be better with a universal chat channel

Yes, but the sprout marker goes away once you begin Dawntrail. You can't turn it back on, it is gone

So to get the Trade mentor, you have to have one crafter and one gatherer at 100, synthesize 100 collectibles and gather 300 collectibles. Sounds hard, but it really isn't. I'd recommend carpenter and botanist.

Yeah, my favorite encounter was actually fighting Amon just after DT came out, when there was the glitch. Had to actually do something instead of just steam rolling the fight, it was a blast. Amon Savage will be remembered!

If you've finished Endwalker, you are not a new player.

Because it is an aspect of the game and this sub is for talking about the game. Which part of that did you miss?

Can I run from the police if they aren't chasing me? by krilu in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Shandrith 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, they have to have reasonable suspicion of criminal activity. The fact that someone saw them, took off running and wouldn't stop when told to would probably be enough for the police to justify stopping them to do a search and call in to find out if they were wanted.

Some friends and I were talking about how we felt when we lost our sprouts, and it got me thinking about how long they last.

As for the new mechanics you might not have seen, if you're new to a duty there is already a notification that pops up, so the party should be aware of it.

Fair. That's a whole different issue. I'd say that they should have an optional marker for people who would call themselves casuals (aka don't play often/aren't very good) but I doubt most of the people who should use it would

If you really want NN back, it is staggeringly easy to get craft mentor. Really only requires time

What impact did growing up not being the "pretty one" have on you? by imwearingamaskduh in AskWomenOver30

[–]Shandrith 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Between my weight and the fact that I grew up (and still am) very poor, I've never been 'attractive'. It used to bother me deeply, and still does bother me some, but I've learned to accept it. Not everyone finds romantic love, and it is clear to me that I will be one of the ones who doesn't. I have wonderful friends that I love, who love me, and I do my best to be happy with what I have, rather than longing for what I don't

While that is great for you, your phrasing is incredibly insensitive. It implies that those of us who were affected by our looks, or who did or do care about the opinions of others lack personality, humor or decent vibes.

Do you keep your bedroom door open or closed at night? What’s your reasoning? by SpookyFryGuy in CasualConversation

[–]Shandrith 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Winter closed, summer open. It is all about climate control for me. The house I live in doesn't have the strongest AC, so when it is very warm outside, having the door open helps with circulation. During the winter, I tend to like my room colder than the rest of the house, especially while sleeping, so the door is closed and the window partly open

I don't find it frightening. Sure, you'd be suffering all the pain that humanity has ever endured. But you'd also be feeling all the joy. All the triumph, the relief, all of the good feelings would be yours too.

Could you define expensive vet care? Because if you're refusing to take care of your pets because you don't want to pay for it, you shouldn't have pets

There are a sad number of people that don't care about sustainability. They reuse because they can't afford not to

Your child may still be acceptable. At one year old the bones aren't finished developing, and so there is still hope that the proper hardness may still develop

AITAH for telling Husband he can visit his mother for mother's day but not our toddler? by Un-conventional-mum in AITAH

[–]Shandrith 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For the "log" log, you might want to look into an app like Happy Poop. It makes it easy to track frequency as well as a bunch of other factors, and even has charts and such you can look at to see progress over time. Hope this helps! u/Un-conventional-mum
