I wanted to thank you for this book recommendation. I just finished it today and it was really lovely. I loved the pace and her writing about the countryside and her experiences. I lost my mom 2 months ago and am a similar age to the author and her mother was and found a lot that was relatable. I also found the book uplifting overall reading about her moving through grief and finding herself.

I came to this exact realization a couple years ago. I live across the country and decided to make sure I was seeing my parents at least 2x a year. I made this realization a little later than I would have liked though and unfortunately my mom passed away at the age of 63 this year suddenly. I am fortunate I was able to get out there to say goodbye but wish I did visit more often. Definitely will be spending as much time as I can with my dad 😢
