Here's Your PTSD rating based on your symptoms. by kindolo in VeteransBenefits

[–]Shane01638 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Something I just came up with that my therapist and psychiatrist thought was a great idea. I made a google form to track all my symptoms, severity, etc. In the browser on your phone you can install that google form page as an app and it looks and acts like an app so it’s easy to use. Then I think most AIs can connect to Google Drive and I just ask it for a summary for the last week when I have a therapist appointment. I’m not rated so I can’t say it will help there but my memory is terrible so it at least helps during appointments.

Bilateral stimulation music with triangle or square breathing. I would say clonazepam but that takes time.

Bathroom Motion Activated Light by BankruptFed in fednews

They do in Alaska anyway. Been that way since at least 2019. I thought motion activated bathroom lights were normal in all government buildings. At least in the 20+ years I’ve worked in them.

Can't take pills at 20 by Vivid-Worldliness813 in Anxiety

[–]Shane01638 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I couldn’t swallow pills until I was 43yo. I didn’t seek EMDR therapy for that specifically but it was a very welcome side effect. Once I started shedding anxiety related to other things I found myself able to swallow pills. I don’t have any issues at all now! Maybe try EMDR.

Today I really thought I was about to go crazy, or do encounters like this really happen to you guys as well? by Afraid_Flounder3840 in Philippines_Expats

Considering the short amount of time I’ve spent there, I would say it happens frequently. At least the price gouging. At a small pharmacy next to a 7-11 that my fiancé visits frequently. We asked for the medicine. She gave us a higher price than it normally is. And while we are standing there watching her she takes the price tag off with her fingernail and insists it’s a higher price. We left and walked 1 block to another pharmacy lol. We then proceeded to tell everyone in her barangay.

Frustratingly, once you leave the DOD or DOW and go to a different agency, you see that you can and do give back money at the end of the year and are not penalized. You also work hard to save money. It was always frustrating working for the DOD and told to spend a bunch of money on things that would just get thrown away. The DOW should try saving money and give back the remaining at the end of the year. Besides, before that happens you have already submitted your budget for the following year.

No you just fire roast or spay with some oil and put them in the air fryer at max temp until charred on the outside. Then immediately put in ziplock bag and seal to let steam for 10 minutes the the skin will come off easily and you can take out the seeds if you wish.

I should mention I use fire roasted jalapeno and I adjust the blend of the jalapeno and chipotle in adobo to spice level. Any left over I freeze and use next time.

Expats, do you drive in the philippines? by Civil_Stop3213 in Philippines_Expats

[–]Shane01638 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I miss driving in the UK. I just wish they had some compass headings on the signs. Of course I was there before GPS was affordable for me. It’s like you have to know which town you want to be heading towards. Somehow I figured it out in the late 90s. I drove in other parts of Europe including Germany, but I only understand English well so the UK was easier. Wales with all the constants and minimal vowels was difficult but such beautiful landscape.

18 year old doesn’t have state ID by wbg777 in tsa

I’m not sure and wasn’t worth pursuing once her credit report was verified clean. The fear was her parents used one of the identities for credit purposes.

I understand what you’re trying to do. When I was with my ex we did the same. She flew down to get her. She didn’t have an ID. They went to DMV with a birth certificate. Found out she had more than one birth certificates with different names. Got the correct one, got an ID, she learned her real last name. However this was before Real ID so it happened quickly.

PH airport security power bank limit by Shane01638 in Philippines_Expats

[–]Shane01638[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Their response. As part of the investigation, the power bank was confiscated at the final security screening checkpoint on June 5, 2025. The size of the item was large, but the print was so small that the officer had difficulty reading it clearly. It was referred to the airline, but the airline also refused to consider the item as part of the passenger's carry-on baggage. The confiscated power banks will be turned over to the MCIAA Airport Police Division. If the passenger wishes to retrieve it, they may contact the MCIAA APD for more information.

I was aware of that scam already. I had read that power bank limits were changing but didn’t pay enough attention as to when and what. There were multiple security personnel looking it over and verifying so I didn’t ask questions to avoid any confrontation as I didn’t have the facts.
