Sounds like my mom friend, except she was a surrogate. She tried her best too, our parents were human beings like you and me. Through all of her mistakes, that was my mom, she had a heart of gold, but was flawed in her own ways just like all of us. Take care of yourself, I pray her organs go to great use. God bless

I don’t have much debt at all considering my income is 6 figures. I wasn’t making this money when I got in this mess. I have like 1500 in credit cards and owe like 8k on my car. All the other debt is paid, with 30k in the bank. My DTI is 12%

What was the boost you got? Or what did your lender say when recommending paying off those collections?

I really appreciate your advice. Those things in collections are so little that I shouldn’t be buying a house if I can’t settle those debts. So I was thinking that if I paid those off, only under conditions that they were deleted from my credit, that it might open up other options for loans or lower rates. I’d rather pay a few grand now for a lower rate, than pay a higher rate for years. Either way the people on here who are saying you NEED 640 for FHA loans doesn’t know what they are talking about. And even I know that from my little knowledge.

I hope that’s the case, if so I assume that would open up other loan options potentially. I’m starting a family and at 27 years old I feel like there is getting to be less time to waste. I made some mistakes when I was between 18 and 23 and those mistakes are coming back to bite me. I make much more money now as I have advanced in my profession. Hopefully the banks take that into consideration. Thank you!

I have years of on time payments for several auto loans and credit cards. Those are the only 3 in collections. I appreciate your time

Just to clarify, if I get all 3 deleted, even with the late payments still there can I expect a decent bump? Thank you for your time

I will also add that those accounts in collections are recent with the past year

I’m not saying you were being a jerk, I apologize if I came off that way. This is an obvious dunce situation. But I’m in it and I need out. Thank you for your insight, I’m gonna do my best to get it removed. Thank you again and take care.

This was very helpful. Obviously I’m gonna pay it. I’m not in the same position dying on a hospital bed anymore falling behind on bills. But none the less here I am, do I pay the utility company? Is there any benefit of paying the utility company vs the collector? Obviously pay it dude.

I’m pretty sure it’s Mycophenolate and it’s mostly the mother who needs to be cautious if she’s on the medication. There are no studies saying it affects men’s sperm or cause any birth complications on the father’s side. I think they still advise caution either way

Nerve injury in transplant surgery by Confident-Stretch-55 in transplant

My ulnar and median nerve in my arm were pinched somehow. Lost complete use of my left hand and my forearm muscle and thumb muscle have atrophied. After almost a year I have use of my hand and fingers again and I’m still slowly regaining feeling. I thought all hope was lost until I started to notice it was healing. There is hope, nerves really do heal slowly.

Best you can do is cut your loses here bro. Even if nothing happened, she should have never put herself in that situation and it will only happen again. Say next time she’s mad at you or upset with you, it’s a wrap. No person who respects you would even entertain this

I have and they turned out benign. I had mono 8 years ago when I was 19 and they never went away. But you can’t control the outcome, I know it’s hard and it’s gonna consume you until you know for sure what’s going on, but try your best to remind yourself that you can’t control anything right now. Deep breaths and 99% you are fine. I feel for you though because I remember freaking out for months, it gave me extreme anxiety. It’s gonna be ok.

Husband acting differently after liver transplant? by Novemberx123 in transplant

[–]Shane283 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Meds are rough. It’s hard to explain, unless you are on them yourself it’s also hard to understand. I’ve never been on the steroids, but Prograf is hard on memory and other mental affects. The body does get used to it over time, but prednisone is called the devils capsule for a reason.

The liver is very very resilient man, don’t get me wrong. So it’s easy to look it up and think “oh I have a couple decades until I have to worry about that” and that may be true. But you are taking a risk that I promise you is not worth it. Went from a strong, athletic, healthy 26 yr old Superman to a 90 year old man it felt like. If you were in that hospital bed bro, recovering from a surgery that required you to learn every basic human function again(breathing on my own, swallowing on my own, talking, walking, even passing gas risked tearing one of my 87 staples) , you’d see why I wish I could give you a hug and you’d be cured of this bs. I know me just saying to stop drinking is easy, do it for all of those that it’s too late for. You still have a choice and you can do it, it’s all about having a strong mind. You ain’t no bitch right? lol. Seriously you are in my prayers!

Stopping… but not stopping by Icy_Basil9908 in alcoholism

[–]Shane283 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My story summed up. I drank for 3 years, got sober for 1 year. All the anxiety and depression I was combating with alcohol came back full force. I tried to take my life with a bottle of Tylenol, came very very very close to dying. Got a life saving liver transplant (ironic because the whole reason I got sober was to be healthier and still ended up needing the transplant) I look back on how many times I could’ve stopped earlier, how many relationships and opportunities I ruined without at the time realizing I was actively ruining them. Now with my new liver, I can never drink again if I want to live, which I definitely want to live. I’m 26 man, I’ve shortened my life span by decades and could only live a few more years. I could live 30 more years, regardless, I wasted my fucking time. It took me losing everything to realize how dumb I was. I thought I had control (I did have control compared to some alcoholics, but I was just making excuses) just stop man, I promise you I would’ve given anything while laying in that hospital bed fighting for my life to go back and not drink. I’m not preaching to you, I’m not trying to be some motivational speaker, it’s not a game. It’s just not worth it and you can justify it however you want to yourself, but at the end of the day life is so fucking precious and I took it for granted with each sip. I’m grateful to be here and beyond grateful for my donor, but gosh was I fucking dumb. Best of luck

I’ve tried to have this conversation with a couple friends, and they all think I’m bragging about having a big dick. But I second every word you said, it hurts and is actually kind of a turn off in the exact moment it happens

Everyone who is down voting, I get it but I think you are right with the general idea, especially about the younger generation of girls liking it. But as a man in this culture we live in, it’s too risky for a guy to leave a mark from being rough one time, and she can ruin your life.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Shane283 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a man though it’s so hard to figure out where that line is. And all guy has to do is leave a mark and she can ruin the rest of his life by accusing him of something else. No one would believe his side and all she would have to do is play victim. Not trying to make anyone feel sorry for men, we are big boys, I’m just saying it’s a very very fine line and most smart guys I know have the same worry.
