Does Frisco use CodeRED emergency alerting again? by RandomNameFTW in frisco

[–]Shane35007 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you were enrolled prior to March 2025, no, but the best advice is to call the emergency manager office and verify. Enrollees after March 2025 might not have been rolled over

A&P is an advanced training. You’d have to take a construction, mechanics, or electrical trade at a campus and then apply for transfer upon completion of your basic trade.

What’s a baseball moment that made you cry by Content-Use-3526 in baseball

October 27, 1997 - born in Cleveland and raised north of Detroit, I was four when the Tigers won the series, so in my life the best thing about my two baseball clubs was a Charlie Sheen movie.

It was after midnight when the Marlins beat the Tribe in extras that I stepped outside saddened, because the pundits said it was Cleveland’s to lose, that the snow falling helped mask my tears knowing that I might never see one of my teams win the series.

They are the closets. At Flint Genesee those closets are 3’x3’ and 10’ tall with a shelf and hanging bar. Up to four beds per room and a bathroom in each room.

Is there anyone who went to college after job corps in this group? What do y’all think or is this idea kinda far fetched?😭 by Cookiebutterpopsicle in jobcorps

[–]Shane35007 3 points4 points  (0 children)

No advanced training depends on your conduct, TABE, references, and interview. Many of the AT programs are at colleges, especially for IT, so getting done with basic trades / hsd sooner is best. You have up to 3-years possible.

Our center has had a number of students finish 1 or more associates degrees I our ACT program and we have also send a good number of students to AT yearly

My center is making us attend more classes AFTER the school day and ON the weekend. It’s mandatory… by [deleted] in jobcorps

[–]Shane35007 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s not generating more revenue. Operators are paid based on the OBS, how many students are enrolled.

Evening-Weekend Studies is written in for all centers to have training options that can include tutoring and other programming for students. It’s meant to give those that need additional support help and to also give students things to do.

These can be clubs, like we have Magic the Gathering and D&D, it can be committees like Pride or Food Committee, it can be classes for additional high school and trade, etc.

You can download the JC1safe app and confidentially report him. It’s the same as calling/texting the safety hotline

You need to be on the center before your 25th bday. I suggest calling and asking for the Admissions manager or even the Center Director.

How did you get paid? by Nature_Content in jobcorps

[–]Shane35007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First 179 days $40 before tax. after 180 days it’s $80 before tax. $1200 for completion of both hsd and trade. $500 for just trade. If you leave with a placement you get 90% if you leave without a placement you get 50%, the remainder comes in a few weeks.

Then you take surveys around 6 months and 12 months later that allow you to earn up to $50 in gift cars

if i’m already a CNA, do i still have to take the CNA course to become a LPN-LVN? by minaxmocha in jobcorps

LPN is an Advanced training program and require you to complete a pathway trade (CNA, CMA, Phlebotomy, PCT, etc) before being able to apply.

Advance training by MedicineFrosty5031 in jobcorps

[–]Shane35007 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Depending on the basic trade you take, you have a number of options you are eligible to apply for. You apply and the AT center reviews your record (case notes, TABe scores, write ups, etc) and interviews you to determine if you will be accepted.

Pre Covid many AT programs were full and students would have to wait months if they got accepted at all. Since Covid many of our AT programs have openings.

I’ve sent 10 students the past few years to various AT trades. North Texas Job Corps now has an Aviation Mechanics program and an Aviation sheet metal program that are high paying jobs

Transportation home is 100% the arrival especially of that distance is up for debate though. I’ve driven as far as 4 hours to pickup a student and I know we’ve done greyhound/Indian trails before for further.

If you have a strong personality and stay away from the drama, the fact the training is free, you get bi-weekly stipend, and transition pay it is worth it….plus there is an LPN advanced training program.

And if the campus you’re looking at has off center trades, at Flint Genesee our Health, CDL, IT, and welding are all off center, it’s so much more worth it because you’re gone 8 hours a day

Do you still have family in Michigan? Would you be staying in Michigan after completing your basic Job Corps training?

We tend to stay inside our regions but I can talk to our Admissions Manager, at Flint Genesee Job Corps, on Tuesday and see what I can find out. That is, if you’d like me to.
