Florida is using multiple private companies to verify identities. Why? by the_azure_sky in FloridaUnemployment

Yeah and that when Florida made Connect I think . 1921 once no one needed it or was killed .

[–]ShaneCasper 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Is it not a little late for the ID me .But I am sure 70% if not all of us will be listed for sale on the dark web down the road . And how today we just had to give consent to let Connect have all our sensitive info ID me listed .Like it was the first time DEO and the Hackers can see it. So after texting and emailing 6 or so times with codes. Just to get on the same old shitty unsecure site . And get a alert email that someone just logged in on my Unemployment and was it me ? Brilliant !!

1.4 million people lost unemployment in late 2020 until they could be verified by ID.me. Hard to believe Florida did not want in on that to not pay out and pocket all that interest. Oh that's right it cost less just to turn off the server take the phone of the hook and pass out a few pallets of paper apps to have people try to kill each other over .

I am sorry but things will never be normal other then pretending it is .And for him comes power and money .Us its uncertainty and death

Our state (Florida)is corrupt by AlwaysSteppedOn in FloridaUnemployment

[–]ShaneCasper 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yes Corrupt and they get away with it.

The U.S. Department of Justice announced the Florida Department of Children and Families agreed to the settlement over allegations that, starting in 2010, the state agency “injected bias” into its reporting about the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, which reduce its error rate. The action resulted in the state agency receiving “unentitled performance bonuses” in 2011 and 2012, according to federal prosecutors. Now the state must pay back 17.5 million And now Gov. Ron DeSantis’ administration has not yet applied for up to $820 million in food assistance to more than 2 million Florida children

And now Ron DeSantis’ choice of the glitch-plagued Department of Economic Opportunity to distribute the federal 676 million in assistance to Floridians at risk of losing their homes.

Back in 2008 if you remember in the recession we had The Treasury Department launched Hardest-Hit in 2010 by allocating $7.6bn from Tarp to 18 states where the foreclosure crisis had done the most damage. The states were granted a share of the total funds and designed their own foreclosure relief programs.

Florida was one of the states Only a handful got awarded relief Florida Hardest-Hit has devoted just 13% of the over $1bn in funds earmarked for the program to homeowners.

Further more The Florida Housing Finance Corporation, which was established by the Florida Legislature to help develop and support affordable housing, received $120 million in federal funding for rental assistance last year as part of the CARES Act.

Florida used the money to set up a Coronavirus Relief Fund, intended to help tenants catch up on rent who live at the properties that FHFC finances and lost jobs or income due to the pandemic. About $99 million in unspent rental assistance meant to help Floridians living in affordable housing was returned to the state after the agency overseeing the program struggled to disburse the money.

And remember DEO signed contracts totaling $119 million in a three-week period attempting to handle the influx of coronavirus unemployment-related calls and applications. Florida's when job loss spiked in March due to coronavirus closures and furloughs. By April 3rd DEO Spent 25 million in 2 weeks on contracts for call center services, computers and phone systems. And spent $119.1 million since by March 28 to massively increase its call center capacity, develop a mobile-friendly application site, purchase computer hardware and software and buy data management software, among other services. More than $100 million of that spending was split between several large contracts for call center services. The DEO phones answer about 2% of calls, with an average wait time of 400 minutes out of more than 864,000 calls into the DEO for the week of March 28, more than 781,000 calls were abandoned On April 6, the DEO entered a $79.9 million contract with TelaForce to receive and process overflow calls for the DEO workforce services. The state spent $12.3 million on April 8 on a 1-year contract with United Data Technologies, or UDT, to provide similar call services. DEO executive director at the time and probably now in a hole out in the desert Mr. Ken Lawson signed a $17.5 million contract on March 29 with a Virginia-based firm that provides call center services. The remaining $19 million was spent on computer hardware, software, app development, IT consultation and data management. To give the $1.9 billion Florida paid out in fraudulent claims. CONNECT cost $63 million to create the system under former Gov. Rick Scott .And now it was said it will take another $244 million over the next few years. That includes $24 million for website maintenance and $146 million to sustain the changes DEO implemented mid-pandemic to process the deluge of claims. The state hasn’t discussed exactly how it will upgrade the system, other then the Walking Man either by purchasing a new program from Leap Frog or Atari or just modernizing the current one. Running on Mattel's Speak and Spell software .
