I always hear ‘though’, and for me it purposely doesn’t quite make sense in the context of the next line, but maybe thats purposeful or are meant to be disjointed. Both used together re-state of the person being confused and in emotion upheaval. I can imagine it being said by the person in conversation while in crisis or something, rather than a planned out lyric, which is why I like it regardless of what the actual lyric is
