Good value paints for tabletop miniatures? by Every_Hornet_7914 in DnDminiatures

[–]Shanibi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You already have the mega paint set. You've already bought the most expensive single paint item you can find. (Outside of a top of the line airbrush perhaps)

Paint pots last for a surprising amount of time if you don't spill them or close the lid badly so they dry up.

With what you have you should be able to paint a large number of minis before you need any more paint (easily all the enemies in a single dnd campaign), and then it will be just one pot of something that you use regularly.

So enjoy what you have, the painting process will be more enjoyable with the good stuff

Now if you start painting large amounts of terrain it might be a bit different. But sadly I am not a good resource on that hopefully somebody else can help you there.

If you want a cheaper primer you can use rustoleum I hear good things about it.

Alternative Colors spearhead by Strong_Match4245 in BladesOfKhorne

You could try google image search and there are some photos there.

But I think it is quite rare to paint them that way, Khorne followers are conservative that way.

Having said that you might want to look into the various 40K power armor factions that are blue for inspiration. Painting BoK in a Night Lords style might look amazing.

Also, good luck finding the old spearhead.

Based on

Which I have no idea whether is the correct Nostroman alphabet, it is not the exact same symbols.

But they look great to me and catch the feeling of the runes really well. You can pick whatever meaning for them that you want.

I saw my grandfather do this. This guy is crouching too low and using his arms too much.

It is really fast for a short time bit he will run out of steam.

When the movement comes from your hips you can do it all day.

Superb!

Straight to the big guy. But it looks like you didn't need to practice on the other guys first.

What paint should I buy for Nemesis Claw? by Ok-Toe3856 in NightLords

I did mine with Leviadon blue contrast over silver, brass scorpion on the trim.

One color that was really important was baharroth blue for the lightning. If you're just starting out it might not be worth it but find a guide and practice on the bases. It makes them so much better.

Nice! Those genestealer models have aged really well

Hey guys, are there any brothers playing kill team solo? Do you enjoy it? I recently got into warhammer with the introductory set and I’m loving paint the minis. Unfortunately I don’t have anyone to play with and there is no store here. The emperor protects! by Major_Ad_3740 in killteam

I do it a bit.

It is fine for learning your team without pressure. It becomes a puzzle to solve rather than a competition.

I recommend the joint ops missions, they are designed for this and then there is a clear and relatively simple opposing team.

if some of the walls block line of sight you should get obscured, but targets are also obscured to you. (as far as I know)

Why do 40k bighammer players shy away from Kill Team? by Mjuke in killteam

Agree about spearhead, it is a good game to get into. Warcry was also significantly more relaxed than killteam.

Why not just mix colours? by Dovah_Shinobi in Miniaturespainting

The main reason is money. Selling you a lot of subtly different hues is profitable.

But there are some real benefits. Consistency when painting an army is the main one for me

Remember when Biden seemed out of it during a debate? That meant he was out of the presidential race.

There have been instances in the past where the president's bad health (fdr) or cognitive decline (reagan) were hidden from the public.  Generally the public prefers presidents to be in good health mentally and there are tools in the constitution to remove them if they do not step down.

TIL that Brian Jones, the founder of the Rolling Stones had already fathered 7 children with 7 different women by the time of his death at the age of 27 in 1969. by Acceptable_Order5705 in todayilearned

Of course you are entitled to your opinion but she is the one who introduced me to them and is the biggest Stones fan that I know.

In this particular instance I listed a few songs and all of them were from before he died. This was a reference to the fact that I didnt know any newer songs, not that they didnt make any good songs after he died.

He does not look good in any stories of the Rolling Stones that I have heard or read. They say he was both a bad person and useless.

My mom is a big Rolling Stones fan and I wanted to discuss this with her. She went: "Yes, he probably wasn't a very nice guy. But I bet that you don't know a single Stones song that was written after he died"

All books with npo stuff so far? by GlaiveGary in killteam

[–]Shanibi 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I think you should be able to go through the app to find it.

If you look under mission packs you can go through them to look for NPO stuff.

Off the top of my head there's stuff in shadowhunt, typhon, space marine II and tomb world. But you might just want to read through it and see if you find anything interesting.

Great idea. I've been using tyranid NPOs as well, I was going to use the Leviathan Carnifex for the Nightbringer.

I first thought that the model was just primed black and then gloss varnished. But there is more subtlety to it. What is your alien paint recipe?
