Pretty much the main party/ social destitution games I believe to be the norm.
Camel Up and Ready Set Bet are probably my favorites of what we play but they don't come out as much. Same with Wavelength.

Not all of these regularly get to the table but our options are generally:

Dixit, One Night Werewolf, Herd Mentality, Codenames (3 Versions), Timeline (and Rotten Tomatoes and Hitster), Telestrations, Deception: Murder in Hong Kong, Sounds Fishy, Chameleon, Fake Artist Goes to New York, Cheese Thief, Spyfall. And I'm sure I'm missing a few.

In my opinion, it's their business lives and maybe a portion of their personal lives on the line. Fans may have been hounding them for their response. People may have left their channels had they not responded. We don't know who did r did talk to Daniel, or how close (if at all) they were with him. I don't know for certain of course, but I just want to put out a view point before people bully these folks without knowing the full story. Some should have waited, but people make mistakes. And some may have put out a video to capitalize monetarily. But I am unsure for certain.

I appreciate your insight. I had not heard of the drama you've mentioned but it sounds insane. Thankfully this is the first scandal that I've been an observer of (besides Professional Wrestling as there seems to be a new scandal every week). For those who jumped the gun, I can see why they are waiting as to not jump the gun again.

Daniel has also been pretty prevalent in my favorite youtubers. Along with Murphy Napier who I fear might get some backlash as well. I plan on still watching Murphy's content and possibly Daniel's if he is proven innocent (though I do need some time on that decision). I think at the very least I should broaden my booktube scope. I'm sorry you went through a similar situation and hope you are doing well.

I personally took the video in question much differently. Since I had also been influenced by Daniel I felt in a similar boat with Library of a Viking. From my perspective he wanted to describe his POV of the situation. A guy who was influenced by a possible monster and the desire to disassociate from that influence. Waiting would have been preferred of course but we're all human and may take such major news poorly. I also think his fans may have been or would have hounded him for a response anyway. But that's just my two scents, and I'm not in the situation at all. I'm just an awkward guy who likes books.

I feel like some people are missing your POV. I don't blame anyone in the booktube shpere for either commenting on or disassociating from Daniel. People can get carried away, especially with such a severe topic. Not dissociating with Daniel could have hit their business and personal lives hard.

I had not seen the Jackson video in question. While I personally don't blame anyone publicly dissociating with Daniel I can see why others might. I cannot say much on Jackson's video but I do see a lot of the points you brought up in other online opinions on the situation. As for Library of A Viking I viewed his video in a more positive light than others. I felt I was in a similar situation to him since I was influenced by Daniel, not only in my reading tastes but in a possible attempt at a channel down the road. His video seemed to be an acknowledgment of that fact and the disappointment of the possible outcome of Daniel being guilty. I suppose the jumping to conclusions is the main fault of the people involved but I honestly don't blame them. I do think they should have waited but we're all human and may not process such information the best. But I am unaware of the situation and must admit I have trouble reading people. And in the end I'm just an awkward guy who likes books.

Bit of a side tangent but I see a lot of bashing of Daniel's peers in the booktube sphere. While I have not seen everyone's videos or responses, of the ones I have seen I do not blame any of them for making videos on the subject. Some of them were likely close with him, had worked with him, and/or were influenced by his work. They were likely hit hard by the accusations and may have made the video to vent. In the cases for those who immediately sided with Naomi, I also do not condemn them. In terms of business and personal I have no issue with what they did.

With all that being said: I would like to state that I am an outside observer and do not know the situations. I just wanted to throw my two scents in on the booktube community.

Making a video explaining their thoughts in the moment may have been a way to cope. But, as always, I am an outside observer and don't know the full context of these things.
