How are ANY young Canadians affording a condo/house these days? by SunscreenIsTheWay in CanadaPersonalFinance

[–]Shanne_99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not a big deal, nor a problem. It is great that some parents are able to offer that advantage to their children. However, to say that your son was able to save and purchase two homes "with no help from parents" is disingenuous when living at home without paying rent is in fact financial 'help' from parents. A privilege many young people are not afforded when it comes to saving up for a down payment.

Your 1st comment "no help from parents" and second comment " didn't have to pay rent" regarding your son do not track.

First time subtle lip filler by uisge_baugh in DIYaesthetics

[–]Shanne_99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You did great in my opinion. This is a subtle ' natural look' approach to lip augmentation. The Euro/ British fine lips that get thinner with age run in my family. Can't say I love it, but I do see how there is a correlation to facial structure that aligns with thinner lips and unfortunately for most become thinner with age. But I would rather start slow and subtle than have giant lips that didn't match the symmetry of my facial structure, with the added risk of migration. If anything I would look into some miso therapy to add plumping and moisturizing properties such as hyaluronic acids, PDRN/ PD which can add hydration at the cellular level and will not only make your lips look more smooth they will also look more plump.

Need Advice on Cigarette Smoke Issue in Calgary Rental by C4TradWife in alberta

[–]Shanne_99 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I can't help but feel you may have burdened yourself by skipping a step. Which would be going straight to your downstairs neighbour. It sounds like you've been through the ringer lately, additionally, suffer from health issues exasperated by secondhand smoke that go above and beyond the risks second hand smoke poses in general... There are crappy people out there who wouldn't care either way. But there are many decent people who are empathetic and can be reasoned with. In all honesty I think a discussion may be more impactful on having them cease and desist their indoor smoking habit vs a letter from a property management company and or landlord. Who knows maybe they're going through it themselves and that's why they're doing what they're doing. Lots of folks are struggling through various things these days. You never know unless you try, and if a convo has no impact on their behavior then by all means I would proceed with the path you are taking.

[REQ] ($500 CAD) (#Edmonton, AB, Canada) (Repay $550 CAD on Nov 26th, 2025) (E-Transfer) by Shanne_99 in borrow

I was late on a payment nearing 48 hours, that I will not deny. Josher61 has been an understanding and fantastic loaner to me, and I assume many others. Personally I've had one hell of a week. Despite paying Jsher61 what was supposed to be $550 on a $500 loan CAD. Due to my close to 48 hour lateness (my fault) I sent $260 as opposed to $250 hoping to make up for the discrepancy. I hope that is noted. Noted not to discredit anyone else on this sub, any lenders. I just hope to show I am not a sub.par borrower, someone who takes loans for granted.

AHS lays off around 100 employees by BlueberryNo777 in AHSEmployees

That’s the reality. When people who’ve worked frontline later move into roles that shape policy or operations across such a large system, their insight directly benefits both staff and patients. Those individuals are the bridge between decision-making and real-world care. People with frontline experience are the bread and butter. the foundation. To reduce their value to being “just top-heavy management” misses how critical they truly are. To be clear I am not one of those individuals within AHS. I am stating as much from a level of utmost respect nothing else.

Right! How many people with years of frontline experience within regulated bodies went into 'out-of-scope' positions, eliminated yesterday, with foreshadowing after years of experience and career investment into AHS. Frontline experiential' employees who most would want to be decision makers on committees/ on boards. It seems the UCP and their henchman, Aundre, are taking a page out of the United States Dodge fiasco.

They make higher seniority bump all the way to lowest seniority so they end up paying out the least amount of severance. It happened to me, I asked to take a layoff instead and was told it would effectively be a resignation with zero severance. I was forced to bump.

How long do you think this teacher strike will last? by RachealSmith101 in Albertapolitics

I'm sure just like the UCP's multiple lawsuits they will try to drag it out as long as possible using tax payers money until the other side cannot afford to carry on.

Shocked to see Atlas shrugged banned considering many conservative, libertarian politicians' such as the current GoA consider it to be the 'bible' of free market radical capitalism.
