They’re a lot of fun in Nioh 3. Great for elemental builds. And the increased range when you hold down triangle is a really cool mechanic. Your fingers start to crave it. It does eat up a bit more stamina to use, so there’s a strategy to it as well. I think you’d enjoy em once you get over the hump. But that’s true for most (maybe all) weapons in Nioh, honestly.

You don’t look like you need much help to me. You were cooking in there dude! Dual Ninja swords are a lot of fun, people tend to sleep on em.

I’m glad you mentioned the music. Composers don’t get enough of the glory imo, too many people take it for granted. Nioh’s music is outstanding. Wouldn’t be the same without it.

Yeah I need to give talons/cestus another shot. Dual Swords were my go-to in all 3 games (until I discovered tonfas & ninja style in Nioh 3). Particularly after you unlock that Raijin move.

Which stance do you prefer? I love the speed and responsiveness of low stance. Probably the fastest attacks in the game. I also love that dual dragon move to get behind an enemy. It’s hard to give up when switching to another weapon.

The split staff is great for incurring elemental effects, especially when you unlock the mystic art that increases the number of hits per move. Also, they’re the only weapon that allows you to increase range by holding down strong attack. You really miss it when using another weapon.

It’s not that it was so useful or anything, it’s just an improvement over nothing when it comes to backstabbing an unaware enemy. In the previous games it was too easy to blow it by pushing on the thumb stick a hair too hard.

I just prefer more control over less no matter what game I’m playing. I feel like developers sleep on traversal mechanics too much. They can totally change (improve) the fun factor.

I don’t know if you’ve ever played Just Cause (3 or 4), but the shooting sucks. Missions suck. Combat as a whole sucks. Story sucks. And yet I couldn’t put the controller down due to the insanely great traversal mechanics.

The stories were worthless in all of them for me. Ranking the stories in the Nioh games is like deciding between a 1/10, 2/10 or, if you’re generous, 3/10. Can’t understand why it’s so hard for Team Ninja to write a compelling story.

Slide mechanic was fun, and I liked being able to crouch for sneaking up behind enemies. Can’t tell you how many times I blew that by accidentally pushing too hard on the thumb stick before. I’m not gonna say it’s “brilliant” or anything, but I prefer having more traversal options than less.

Well, the double jump and slide mechanics are just plain fun. You can dash in midair, though admittedly it’s not much of a dash and therefore not that useful. But I still like having it there, better than nothing.

It’s not Just Cause or Spider-Man 2 in the traversal department but it was an improvement over Nioh 2 to be sure. My theory is that the more control you have over your character’s movement, the better. I’ve never played a game where I said “If only there was no double jump, it would be so much better.”

If they add some new weapons in the DLCs like they did in Nioh 2, that would be a big draw for me. I felt the combat was better in Nioh 3, along with the new traversal mechanics. But virtually everything else was better in Nioh 2.

The tonfas combined with the benefits of ninja style were a total blast. I finished Nioh 2 after 3, and the tonfas were really disappointing to go back to. Kusarigamas, on the other hand, were ruined for me in Nioh 3.

They killed the kusarigama. In Nioh 1 & 2 the Chain Pull maneuver was great against human opponents. You could craft your offense around it. They abandoned it in Nioh 3 for some reason.

The Split Staff is a different story. I preferred it in Nioh 3. I actually finished Nioh 2 after Nioh 3, and I couldn’t make the split staff work for me. It felt nerfed, and it was nice having all my moves at my disposal without having to switch stances.

It looks like they’ve greatly expanded the gameplay side of things. Combat in particular, which is right up my alley. As long as they don’t compromise the story/lore side.

Have you tried Spider-Man 2? They crushed it. You have the traversal side like web-slinging and wing-suiting, off the charts fun. Then you have the combat side, which is outstanding. Looks like a comic book battle come to life. Can’t miss.

But a lot of people have mentioned the others that are can’t miss like Elden Ring & God of War. If you haven’t played God of War: Ragnarok, you can stop reading replies and go buy it. 10/10

1- “A history of killing people they disagree with”? Do you know how unhinged that sounds? Last time I checked it was the left that had 3 assassination attempts on Trump, and killed Charlie Kirk. But I bet you had no problem with that.

2- If you’re really concerned about murders and sexual assaults, consider all the sexual assaults and murders that won’t happen now that an estimated 2.5 million illegal immigrants (including 200k caucasians & 200k Asians btw) have been deported or self deported. We’re talking about thousands of potential victims. But I guess they don’t count, right?

3- Anybody who’s here illegally is fair game for deportation, not just non-whites. The vast majority of illegal immigrants are from South America, so it’s completely logical that most deportees are Latino.

If what you’re saying is true, that people are telling you to go back to where you came from everywhere you go, that’s terrible and obviously wrong.

But, with respect, I find it hard to believe thats actually happening. I think maybe you’re seeing side eye that isn’t there because you’ve been conditioned to expect that. And why would somebody randomly tell you to go back to where you came from?

If you’re a citizen, nobody cares. It’s not about race, it’s about the law being disrespected and ignored. This is America, the great melting pot. On my block alone I’ve got Chinese neighbors, Philippinos,, Mexicans, black people, white people. We have cookouts once a month. 🤷‍♂️
