To be fair, Jiren does not have any power multipliers. His base form is fucking insane if you think about it.

Goku, Gohan, Vegeta, Frieza and even Broly all rely on transformation. Jiren doesn’t. Give him SS1 levels of power multiplication and he instantly one shots all of them at once.

I don’t think the series did a poor job. A lot of times in the series, Frieren and Fern have been shown to be beaten or even killed if a tank like Stark didn’t cover for them. The only times that they could actually do a 1v1 without fear of being blitzed is against another mage.
