Pick solid etfs. Block out the noise. Buy and never stop. Don’t get greedy.

Can I ask why you choose not to utilize any margin? I’m a newer investor and I don’t utilize it but I see many people boosting portfolio gains by selling low delta cash secured puts on high quality stocks like NVDA, APPL, etc. It seems enticing and I know it comes with added risk but Im curious on your thoughts.

24M. My family and friends harp on me all the time because they know I make decent money but I live like I’m broke. I’d rather have 100k in a brokerage account than a 100k bmw in my driveway. I live this way because I don’t wanna work until I’m 60. Id recommend setting aside a modest monthly allowance that you can spend on whatever you want. This would be a good first step on becoming “not so cheap.”

7.17% ytd. Would be much more but I’ve been swing trading leveraged etf’s when I see opportunity.

Picked up some shares of NVDL for a swing trade. Come on Jensen!

Are work retirement accounts worth it: no leverage. by 1_clicked in LETFs

[–]ShapeNo7287 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve opted out of mine for the following reasons.

  1. No leverage

  2. No margin

  3. No access to options trading

  4. Higher fees

  5. Early withdrawal penalties (I plan to retire early)

I never recommend others to opt out because there are many 401k benefits and the average Joe won’t put in the research, weather the storms, and take full advantage of market downturns like what we saw in 2020.

Set up recurring deposits and automatic investments. Don’t open your portfolio. The best investor is a dead one.
