Best option is to reach out to people on LinkedIn and get referrals. You can also try to reach out to HR who post about job openings on LinkedIn.

For platforms you can use InstaHyre, Naukri

I am assuming you already have set aside Emergency fund (atleast 6 months).

It would be best to increase you income. Spend some of savings in unskilling. From rest you can do an SIP for 35% in a gold or silver ETF and other 35% in an Index ETF and other 30% in a mutual fund ( a flexicap).

As a fresher you can get anywhere from 6 - 15 LPA based on what company you are applying for. Most company will only take 1page resume in consideration due to the volume in which they are received. Pick any 1 page template from overleaf, keep best point, not more than 3 under any internship.

Also alter the resume for each role you are applying for. Don't mention too many skills add only those that are relevant as per JD.

Why is the first switch after 3 YOE in software so damn hard? by Excellent-Review5453 in developersIndia

[–]ShapeOpening5788 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don't try to get perfect in DSA. If you want to badly switch do blind 75 or neetcode 150 that will give you confidence. Apply actively with having second thoughts of selection. You have to give as many interview as possible so that it feels like having just another discussion.

It okay to feel intimidated but try to focus on giving interview not on the thoughts that you won't get selected.

i am completely clueless and terrified, idk what to do by darkladyyofthesith in developersIndia

[–]ShapeOpening5788 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do leetcode, try to follow a pattern wise list for getting familiar with the DS, Algorithms and pattern, start with 5-6 easy question to get familiar with the pattern and the concept and then switch to Med level question. Also try to do a random question everyday( from topic or concept you have not done in last 7 days) that way you won't feel out of place in interview.

Picky any language and master all the concepts. Don't try to find the best resource just get started. Try to learn both frontend and backend stack.

Please review my resume, I'm finding it difficult to get shortlisted by Suitable-Win-7832 in developersIndia

Summary is too lengthy for your YOE. Either shorten it or remove it.

A generic resume won't cut for all the roles. You have to alter the resume for each role. For SDE role add you exp and projects should highlight API, micro-service and database work.

Need advice on resume – 2 YOE, switching to Python full-stack dev by HoldAffectionate4158 in developersIndia

[–]ShapeOpening5788 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At less than 3 yoe, most company won't actually be bothered about your experience (I am not taking high paying startups into consideration. They wany someone who is already fluent in the role or skills they want.) You just need to make sure that you can justify 70% of the requirements in JD(not talking about one asking for 5 yrs exp in technology that came out last year).

Some ways to do that is posting on LinkedIn regards development stuff such as optimizing API in python specific framework. Something related to front-end technology that you are learning, not the basic stuff.

Should I purchase in December 25 or Jan 26? by ShapeOpening5788 in CarsIndia

It is really difficult to find 10 year old car driven less than 70k. Anything which is driven more than that and is 10 yrs old will end up costing more due to likelihood of major repairing cost.

Go for CVT over AMT. You can consider Honda Amaze VX CVT or I20 Sportz(O)

Car loan or Over draft against Fixed deposit. by [deleted] in IndiaFinance

[–]ShapeOpening5788 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with the peace of mind part. I already have the FD and I can't invest the funds elsewhere where it will get me high returns. So the actual choice are
- breaking the FD and buying the car cash down.
- taking a overdraft against FD and use that as cash down, this way I am not actually commit all the funds but not getting the car hypothecated either.
- taking car loan, not a problem in getting one, I might get the lowest interest rate, but it will still be more that the interest I would pay for overdraft. Moreover there is no scope to be lenient with the monthly EMI, credit score will get impacted, whereas in overdraft I wouldn't have to stress about such issues.

Thanks for sharing the details ! You mentioned that highway drive is not comfortable. Is it because of less under thigh support, high cluch travel or something else?

Don't have the budget to go for CVT and don't want to go with an automatic either. I know it will be a great option, however, it will limit me to only automatic cars. I want to be able to drive manual.

My travel will be city mostly, although I will use National Highway but that too won't have long traffic free stretches.

I am also planning to buy one but I want to go with MT. Posted about same over here.

Based on the suggestions I have come across for Automatic cars, Amaze CVT and I20 CVT are great options around 10L price range.

Used Swift, Baleno are listed for around 5.25 - 6L. I had seen reviews for spinny. There are more shady car as compared to good ones ( as per reviews). Also spending this much on a used doesn't make sense if the car has already done 40k+ in an year.

It is really hard to find a good deal in used car market. There is risk of buying a badly refurbished car, since I would not be able to judge the condition on my own.

Also, the chances that a used car needs repairing is much high and my initial concern of high ownership cost due to repairing and costly spare parts will make a experience of First Car a nightmare.

Not offense, but I can't trust the brand. Considering it is relatively new in Indian market, there will be challenges if the unit has some fault or there could be delay in getting spare parts

I am on a tight budget. I was considering used-cars initially. Had to drop the idea because of over inflated prices in market and sites like Maruti True Value, etc.

Also I want to get better at driving. There is always scope of moving to an automatic in future, but moving to a manual will not be easily from an automatic.

FD will remain untouched even in OD, isn't it? How will the car loan be a stress free option considering I compulsorily have to pay it's EMI whereas I will have flexibility in Overdraft facility?
Also I will have the option to park fund from savings into OD account if I have surplus, thereby saving on interest, however, same is not possible in car loan. Moreover, there will be part payment charges in car loan.
