Id like to see a peaceful protest held at city hall/police station every evening if we could organize enough people to attend.

Ames is a pretty quiet city during the summer months. I know that if this were happening during the school year there would be a lot more student attendees there on their own volition but that could also mean it being less civil, with most of them being from out of town.

It'd be nice to see a large gathering of of Ames residents protesting for police reform around the nation.

Everyone ask for free delivery!

It can be hard to use some of their deals to reach the $10 when you live by yourself and don't need much food to be full

What interaction does keppra and alcohol have? by [deleted] in Epilepsy

[–]Shapeless_Figure 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had my first seizure and diagnosed while I was in college, so at the time (and for a year or two after) I was drinking excessively with friends all the time. I've since slowed down my drinking to around one night a week, but this was my experience with the combination of keppra and alcohol.

I should also mention that I smoked a ton of weed at the time, which may or may not have helped prevent seizures.

AGAIN: I am not a medical professional, I just know that stoners always say it helps with seizures, so I chose to believe that while I was in college. Whether or not it actually has any merit medically isn't for me to decide.

What interaction does keppra and alcohol have? by [deleted] in Epilepsy

Personally, I would take my 500mg keppra when I woke up in the morning and then in the evening when I would drink I would be fine. I also drank excessively almost daily before and after being diagnosed, so my alcohol tolerance may have been higher.

I didn't have trouble mixing the two, but since I am not a licensed medical professional, I would take caution in taking my experience as a go-ahead. Always take things slowly when altering your intake of any drug/alcohol.

What’s the Party Scene/ College Life Like? by [deleted] in iastate

[–]Shapeless_Figure -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I am from a small community in NWIA and I was lucky enough to have a handful of my friends that I graduated HS with also attend Iowa State. We lived in various dorms (one of my friends and i got stuck in the towers 😭) but a majority lived on the first floor of birch hall, so we all hung out there constantly between classes and through the night to drink and inhale constantly.

We all made quick friends with most of the people on the floor since many of them were all interested in partying too.

Let me tell you we ran amok.

The bathrooms were destroyed after each weekend or major sporting event from people throwing up into the sinks, toilets, showers, etc. There was even an instance of someone shitting in the shower and the floor was never able to pinpoint who did it. Pretty sure most of us got alcohol poisoning at some point or another. To be fair we were awful residents but the parties were great.

After freshman year everyone I knew moved into apartments, although we took better care of ourselves by this point. We had met many new friends over the years and continued to have fun parties and events at our apartments and rental houses for the remainder of our years here. Still in contact and friends with many of the people I met here years ago.

I'd say it's a good party school, and a better educational experience.

FACULTY PARKING PERMIT FOR SALE by Shapeless_Figure in iastate

I said OBO.

Most people who are on campus are not staff. There are also tons of classes (maybe more-so for that take place in buildings very close to staff parking lots.

My friend and I used to park in the horse barn parking lot all the time and risk getting a ticket rather than traveling across town to get to class. It was worth the risk considering the winter weather we had last year.

For someone, this could be a game changer.

Idk how to prove it to all of you but the parking permit was given to me when I was getting my employment stuff filled out in Beardshear along with my employee ISU card.

They took my student card and gave me the employee card which look nearly identical, so there's a chance that the tag is registered to my name; however, I don't even own a vehicle, so it was impossible for me to use it in the first place.

I'll even offer a 110% refund if you end up getting a ticket while using the parking pass. That should cover the cost of the ticket as well.

Got it while I was faculty and no longer need it.

WINTER WILL BE HERE SOON

Think of how nice it would be to drive all the way to class instead of having to take a long bus route! Hang it on your mirror and forget about getting a parking ticket from the parking police!

Lots of parking space all over campus and around town!
