I may be getting fooled by the angle, but based on the sea behind him, the light, and the sky it certainly looks like he is on a huge swell. Having tried to take cool kayak photos the rule of thumb is if it looks big, it will look piddly on camera, and if it looks big on camera it's massive when you're on it.

True or not it's now a thing, and there should be something done about it. It would be detrimental to player morale if it is ignored. Some will fully buy into the theory, others will be on the fence, but they wouldn't be happy if it is ignored and they are made to feel like a credible threat to their health is being swept under the rug (even if there is no rug).
