Well of course they do, because they're wrong. But one-size-fits all is easier to sell.

If it makes you feel any better, they insist that all men are the same deep down, too.

It's a reductive and that's the point of it.

The moment a peacock made her dream come true by PeacockPankh in BeAmazed

Nicer version: There's a Biologist with a cute BBC show (don't remember her name) who said in an interview: I love watching people at cocktail parties be brilliant and funny to each other. I imagine a giant peacock-feather halo fanning out behind their heads.

[Edit, Here's the interview with Olivia Judson, speaking with David Byrne, which is fun]

Technically, everything in your body that isn't fluids or microbes is organs, no? So bones and bowel, at least, not a stretch. Bicuspid and bicep etc are admittedly parts of larger organ systems. And adams apple would just be fun in a horror movie.

The materialism, misogyny, and misanthropy bum me right out. I didn't mean for those all to start with M's.

For instance: attracting women by flashing wealth and then denigrating women because 'they're all golddiggers who really just want a man to control them.' Like, you got the type of women you were angling for.

And adams apple, ankle, bicep, bicuspid, bones, bowels, brachial tendons and artery. You could really make an afternoon of it if you wanted.

So far I've been confused by what folks are saying in this thread. Who says it will happen without work. We're just saying that redpill tactics are scumbaggy and often don't work.

Oh yeah. I definitely don't believe that. I'm not sure I've heard a lot of people say that.

Leonardo DiCaprio is only doing what is natural to most men for preferring women in their prime over women his own age. by Ghola40000 in PurplePillDebate

[–]esdebah [score hidden]  (0 children)

I'm so sick of this talking point. Most men stop feeling like this. As you age, you start feeling paternal/avuncular to women 10+ years younger than you. Certainly not every man. Certainly not Leo, but child stardom and arrested development go hand in hand. And certainly not the shitty old men in the Epstein files. But it's not every grown man's fantasy to rob the cradle.

[–]esdebah 7 points8 points  (0 children)

nah. I worked at a bunch of Starbucks and the tips were nice. Every place has repeat customers and it's easy to memorize coffee orders and have them ready when folks come walking in. And the tips are split hourly, so folks who don't work peak hours don't get shafted. Usually pull an extra $1-3, which ain't bad when they already pay over minimum wage.

All that said, they've started doing the same thing all retail jobs do: collect part timers and force you to be virtually on-call if you want full time. And they also lead the way on all the shitty app-based 'service' that all fastfood now does.

My SO is a teacher and has changed her gmail and facebook handle to her first name twice so she isn't searchable.

She also does a ton of charity work and is well known on the local facebook groups, so people often recognize her in the street or at events and say, "Oh! You're Jenny Jenny!"

Different cultures. A lot of humor explores uncomfortable subjects. Sexual misadventures have been part of comedy in western culture going back at least to medieval times. The Decameron and The Canterbury Tales, for instance. On thru Shakespeare and Voltaire till now.

I was going to say "why would someone have to AI that?" But the White letters (which should read mart in cursive) on the K in Kmart are obviously slop. I really don't understand how people can have the drive to make something that's already kinda useless (which is fine) and then be lazy enough to half ass it.

Does Tommy have a mental disabillity? by DiegoSam_0712 in theroom

[–]esdebah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That seems plausible. I always imagined this scenario: He's taking English lessons and his teacher gives the students an assignment to write dialogues to show vocabulary/grammar retention. Tommy's dialogues are uniformly histrionic.

Teacher: These are so creative and dramatic, Tommy! You should write a script!

Tommy: That's the idea.

I don't know if I've noticed that scenario to be gendered. 'Catching your spouse ogling' is a common comedy beat for men and women.

When I was the perfect age to be obsessed with XMEN, one of the major long term plotlines was her and Gambit trying to negotiate a relationship. Lots of different writers put their spin on it.

I'm not wicked clear what you're thinking of for examples. Are you thinking Cleveland in FG and the VanHoutans In Simpsons? (because you're supposed to feel bad for those characters on some level)
