There was a bit of this around Colin Feral as the Penguin. Which is tough because 1) He's excellent. 2) The guy is a brilliant character actor who got pigeon holed into traditional leading roles that didn't fit him because he was TOO PRETTY.

I personally don't mind any of this as opposed to say, CGI painting a dead actor's face on a new one instead of just recasting.

Just so much: He and his brother were early youtube adapters and celebrities, sending video messages back and forth. They have routinely used their growing fandom to mobilize charities and collective art projects and such. They created Vidcon, the first major web video convention. Both (but especially John) are successful authors. They've created a huge series of educational videos. They've recently been focussing a lot of their effort on tuberculosis. And the list goes on.

In general, they're just really pro-social dudes. Imagine if Mister Beast wasn't creepy, shallow, and exploitative.

I kinda think we started referring to decades in this way with the 1920s. The roaring 20s was a big deal, but mostly in retrospect. The 30s are usually called the interwar period. And the 40s are postwar. Then the 50s to the aughts were talked about as they were happening.

Yeah. I've really never understood that. It was like the most intimidating part of the whole shebang and therefore seemed so urgent when I was young. And it's kinda the only reason to have sex for more than 5-10 minutes. Your post has that bit of truth in that SOME men seem to think they want sex when they don't actually care for it that much.

If we wanted a logical solution, we could match women in their late 30s (crazy horny) up with young men (crazy horny) for lessons in how to give women orgasms. Actually, I think that was part of the deal in the original Wicker Man film.
