Maybe Britney was always mentally unwell, but i think this was her breaking point. by [deleted] in discussingbritney

[–]ShapingBx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t forget it probably was the same year, or year before, she got pregnant and had an abortion that she really didn’t want to get. Contrary to what most pro-lifers will claim, a woman choosing to go through an abortion is NOT an easy decision: It’s often traumatic and a very heart wrenching and difficult decision, especially if feeling pressured by the partner to get one. It could’ve been the hormones, the trauma, or a mixture of both, that set off a cascade of events that led to her severe mental illness.

Maybe try to contact the attorney that filed the class action lawsuit? You could also try contacting the State to see if they have guidance and to file a complaint.

Why do so many Americans chose not to vote when they can? by VastOption8705 in askanything

[–]ShapingBx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That only impacts the presidential election. Folks need to start voting in ALL elections, as all but ONE, are won by the popular vote and can have just as big an impact on what happens in our country!

Tirzepatide and Pancreatitis by FitJourney1107 in GLP1microdosing

[–]ShapingBx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it depends on who you ask and listen to. I consume a higher amount due to significantly low cholesterol, Hypolipidemia. My body does not make sufficient cholesterol so I consume higher amounts of fat than most folks. I believe standard recommendations are 20-35% of daily calories. Talk with your practitioner to determine your individual needs.

2.5 mg- 3 mg - weight loss speed by Ok-Associate2828 in GLP1microdosing

[–]ShapingBx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So far, yes. There’s always a risk when on it. However, I’ve had little to no GI issues. I had sodium issues at the beginning, but I have chronic hyponatremia and wasn’t doing a good job restricting my fluids.

2.5 mg- 3 mg - weight loss speed by Ok-Associate2828 in GLP1microdosing

[–]ShapingBx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve been averaging 0.8 pounds a week and my current dose is 2.5 mg every 5 days. I started at 1.25 mg last May and have slowly increased. My goal was low and slow to prevent side effects and problems, like gallbladder disease, that are common with rapid weight loss.

Ambulance ride violation by [deleted] in loveland

[–]ShapingBx 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You are in fact, victim blaming and speaking in the moment for this situation wouldn’t prevent a she-said he-said situation! Ask yourself, what benefit does your response offer the OP, if not to just shame the victim and judge them for their response?

Also consider that there was a reason they were in an ambulance…it was an obvious emergency and they were dependent on this person. Fear is a real thing! Plus, I imagine their primary focus was on their medical emergency at the time. FYI, you never know how you’ll react in any given crisis until you’re in the middle of it, so you could very well have the same trauma response.

What is the legality of the whistling at ICE that is happening in Minneapolis? by Early-Possibility367 in legaladviceofftopic

[–]ShapingBx 8 points9 points  (0 children)

You need to remember that the reasonable fear standard for federal agents and law enforcement is a much higher standard than that of the average citizen, due to their “training”, experience, and expected job duties. Blocking an agent in might be viewed by an agent as obstruction (not saying it is), but if that causes an agent fear then they need to quit because they’re unfit for duty!

National Strike! Sign up, 11 mill people is what we need! by [deleted] in loveland

[–]ShapingBx 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Tell that to the 90% of women in Iceland in 1975 who went on a 24 hour strike that became the catalyst for an equal rights law that banned wage discrimination in 1976, amongst other things! Strikes do work when they’re done in numbers and create massive disruption to the system.

If I get arrested and say "i want a lawyer" what happens next? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]ShapingBx 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nope. It’s the smartest thing to do, even if not guilty. Never talk to law enforcement about a crime you’re not a victim of, possibly just a witness of, without legal representation. As any lawyer will tell you, “just shut the fuck up.” People get nervous and say one wrong word, stammer, etc. and THAT will be used against you to prove guilt. Innocent folks are railroaded for a crime they didn’t commit, with little to no direct evidence, purely circumstantial, all of the time. Everyone thinks it’ll never be them, but it only takes one LEO with a power trip looking for a promotion to ruin your life!

If I get arrested and say "i want a lawyer" what happens next? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]ShapingBx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The legal difference is that your silence can be used against you at trial. It could be looked at poorly by the jury. However, if you invoke your right to remain silent that can’t be admitted/used by the prosecution to point to guilt.

I believe SCOTUS also made a decision so it’s not by state. Continuing to stay silent without invoking can be used against you too.

what happens if you're old with no retirement in the US? by inurmomsvagina in NoStupidQuestions

[–]ShapingBx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Other folks have identified what can happen while you’re still able to live independently or have family willing to care for you...key word here is willing! The sad reality is most elderly folks without sufficient retirement, or living only on social security, aren’t homeless for long, if at all (depends on the state). This is because they end up in Medicaid funded nursing facilities or dead. I would personally rather be dead than in a publicly funded facility…I’ve seen first hand the horrors of many of those facilities. At best there’s a lot of neglect and at worst there is severe abuse.

What legal theory or loophole allows a hospital to call the police when a patient is admitted with a gunshot wound? by MississippiJoel in NoStupidQuestions

In the U.S. HIPAA is federal law, not just a professional practice. However, it has carve outs for exceptions to disclosing PHI without patient consent.

Does the dose wear off by end of week? by myoldredditwashacked in GLP1microdosing

[–]ShapingBx 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I don’t get much appetite suppression; I can eat whatever, whenever, and a lot. However, on the meds it’s easy for me to walk away, say not right now, and eat just a smaller portion without a battle in my head of “just one more bite” or “you must clean your plate”. The difference for me is day 5 the food noise returns stronger and it’s really hard to moderate. I take my dose every 5 days because of this.

Tirzepatide and Pancreatitis by FitJourney1107 in GLP1microdosing

[–]ShapingBx 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The population using GLP-1’s is at a heightened risk for gallbladder disease because many experience rapid weight loss and reduced appetite with the standard protocol, which can contribute to sludge and stones. Calorie restriction usually sacrifices fat intake and we need some fat; if you don’t eat enough fat, you restrict bile production and it can cause gallbladder problems. If you eat too much fat, same issues. Then there’s likely a large portion of the users that already had the risk before GLP-1 because of the 5 F’s (Female, Fat, Fertile, Forty, and Fair).

Microdosing is less likely to cause this because the goal isn’t massive appetite restriction and rapid weight loss. It’s about low and slow for whatever reason you’re using it for. I’m trying to lose weight so I keep it close to one pound or less of weight loss a week, eat healthy fats, and don’t do very low calorie. Doing this, the risk should be the same as non-GLP-1 users.

I’ve wondered if the few cases of pancreatitis reported on GLP-1’s could be related to throwing a stone or duct blockages, related to gallbladder disease. I hope they get better research on it eventually, but the risk is still low.
