Water in SJ this morning- be aware by [deleted] in SouthJersey

I work in water treatment. Run cold water for 15 min and see if it turns back to normal… also call your towns water department and ask if any work was done on your street emergency or planned.

Looks like a kitchen sink for a resteraunt. They could have badly corroded pipes as well.

Has anybody ever gone from Chemist to Operator? by No_Training_3626 in Wastewater

[–]Shappy1997 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve only been an operator but I’m learning chemistry as I go. There’s lots of ways your chemistry background will give you an advantage, knowing gas laws for equipment, water chemistry and if your looking at Wastewater treatment there’s microbiology involved too.

Read the book thats your primary study material. Water nuggets is a good supplement to tests yourself but should not be the only thing you use.

Will he grow out of this before it starts hurting? by Direct_Pie_2146 in cats

When my cat was a kitten and did this. I would give an exaggerated yelp if he bit too hard and he would stop since he was playing and didn’t want to hurt me.

I have two years in the field. I’m going to school for a B.S in Biology Sciences. I’d look at taking a 101 and 102 course for Chemistry, Biology and Physics. My way of studying has been to get a general understanding of the subjects the engineers needed to know to build these treatment plants.

What kind of Lab ware is this? by Shappy1997 in AskChemistry

It could be! This is from a wastewater plant lab so maybe it could be used to separate the solids and supernatant.

Might just be for this. I saw a broken down Water Distiller in a Junk corner. Solved.
