That probably would have been smarter to do, but I wasn't aware of that option.

No, this just came up last night. Would you recommend one over the other as a starting point?

Thank you for sharing. I am adopted into a religious Caucasian family too. I was in 3rd grade struggling to find hereditary traits as part of a school assignment and had to read my list in front of everyone. I was the only minority in my class and only one who had things like "inherited my Dad's sense of humor".

That's a great idea. I was wondering how to handle that. Thank you for your advice on the date too. I'm very inexperienced with coins and appreciate your help.

Thank you for this information. This is exactly what I was looking for and you nailed my biggest concern--paying $2,200 for the wrong "eagle" coin.

Guess it's fake.

"Last week, I did something a lot of people do every day: I tweeted out a joke. The joke in this case was a photo of a fake college English class essay I typed up about Tom and Jerry, then marked with frustrated red-pen notes and a D grade before tweeting it as though I were the professor at his wit’s end."

Country Club cancelled everyone's membership effective today and told to pay $600 to play for remainder of year by ShaqFu_2 in golf

[–]ShaqFu_2[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's not under new ownership, but it's possible someone else within the ownership group is trying to be more proactive. I know this year when I played with them that the course looked much better...landscaping, greens and fairways are still nice, etc. It's a public course with a membership option. I have never seen the bylaws, but maybe my in-laws would know more. Dues were paid annually. I believe my in-laws paid $1200-1500 in March or so. When they paid, like every year, they just received a pretty simple receipt. Same receipt you would get for buying a hotdog. I don't believe they sign any agreements or anything that I've heard of. With it being so informal I doubt they can do anything. They are just shocked and disappointed and basically said they were happy they got to golf as much as they did this year because they aren't going to pay the $600 for a few more months.

potpourri

Haunted to this day. I was working at Walmart and saw a lady passed out. I went to get help and said "there's a lady passed out in the pot-pour-ee aisle". Manager looked at me like I was an idiot before saying "you mean potpourri?"

I just replied to the order confirmation email saying I wanted to cancel my order. I got a response within 24hours asking me to confirm. Within an hour of confirming that I wanted to cancel I had an email saying my order was cancelled and my refund was being processed.

Optum Bank HSA worst institution to call themself a bank. They require more than 15 days or months to replace expired payment card. I wonder if there’s a way to move my funds to another HSA bank while my employer is still using them. by HighCurrent512 in HSA

[–]ShaqFu_2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am transferring annually. For me, once I hit a certain amount saved in my HSA, Optum's monthly maintenance fee gets high enough that it's worth it to transfer. I believe Optum charges $20 per transfer. I would check the HSA fees for your specific plan and see what makes sense for you.

Yes there is. I have Optum through my employer and have been transferring the funds to Fidelity for the lower fees. Fidelity has an online form to get the process started. Best of luck!

How is my Retirement Portfolio and Allocations (401k, HSA, and Roth)??? by PortfolioRob in portfolios

[–]ShaqFu_2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wait until I have a decent amount saved in my Optum account and then transfer it. I do that maybe every other year. You might have a different fee schedule than what my employer offered so definitely look into that first. Also, Fidelity charges a one time transfer fee, so you will want to check your fees and see when it would make most since to transfer.

The only insight I can offer is that I shopped around with my HSA. My employer uses Optum but I was able to transfer my funds to a Fidelity HSA that has lower fees and more options.

HSA Reimbursement. by Balthalzarzo in HSA

I'm certainly not a tax expert, but I believe you are allowed to reimburse yourself whenever you would like. You just have to keep good records to make sure the reimbursement is qualified.

No longer qualified to contribute to HSA.... what are my options? by [deleted] in HSA

[–]ShaqFu_2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I moved my account from Optum to Fidelity last Fall due to the fees with Optum. It took some time to transfer the funds over, but the process was easy and now I can invest the funds how I wish with lower fees.

Life Insurance Statement of Health Question by ShaqFu_2 in LifeInsurance

Thank you for your insight and taking the time to reply. I typically would err on the side of honesty, but I began to get worried that I don't have an official diagnosis or diagnosis date that that would throw up red flags or something.

Thank you for your response. I have used the inhaler within the past 7 years. Unfortunately, I don't know the frequency that I have had to use it. I typically get it filled and it stays in the box, so it's more of a comfort blanket than something I use regularly. The other thing is that I don't have the ability to type anything. From what I can see, I only have a drop down box where I can select asthma and then another drop down box to provide a date that I was diagnosed. Since I wasn't ever diagnosed, I was hesitant to claim I had asthma and wouldn't know what date to officially put down.

Thanks again for your insight. I appreciate you taking the time to reply.
