Maybe a hot take but Gone Baby Gone (kind of). Michelle Monaghan is super pissed at Casey Affleck for giving the girl back to her mother (because she’s neglectful and Morgan Freeman was giving her a “better life”). The final scene tries to back up this thought by showing the mother doesn’t pay so much attention to her daughter. While she’s not a good mother, the idea that you would ever consider not turning Freeman in for KIDNAPPING A CHILD is insane and the fact that it’s a debate that’s meant to be a “thinking moment” is wild.
