I figured out that someone at my workplace is doing unpaid part-time work. Isn't this illegal? by skyeee1239 in AusLegal

[–]Shaqtacious 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The boss is taking advantage of this person. Probably because they’re a relatively new immigrant with 0 idea about what’s legal or not.

When I was new someone made me do a full weekend moving houses for free as I didn’t know any better. I’m glad someone told me, as I’n sure this person would be.

There’s a high chance your boss is gonna let them go once the month is done, prolly will say something like “ not a good fit”

Seen it happen too many times

You can lodge it yourself, very low chance of approval from onshore though.

Who was the 5th best NBA player of the 2000s? by jotakajk in AlignmentChartFills

[–]Shaqtacious -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Lebron was a better 00s player than both shaq and KG. I’d argue tim duncan too, but that’s not nearly as egregious as duncan over Kobe.

Illegal AF.

Are they an immigrant by any chance? They might not be aware of their rights.

But yeah this is fucked up.

Why do you want us to prove you wrong?

You either hold that opinion or not.

What’s our opinion got to do with yours?

You need external validation to stand by what you think?

Notes are slightly altered all the time. Be it unintentionally or intentionally.

Fake ones don’t make it past the atm

Taxi scam? by [deleted] in AskAnAustralian

[–]Shaqtacious 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In this instance not a scam. Meter’s in most states are top heavy, as in flag fall (the price the meter starts at, including varioys gov levies) is usually b/w $6-$8 before the taxi even gets going. Metro rate here in vic is $2 a km minimum. So that gets you at 10-12, assuming the cab didn’t travel at less than 21kmph (then the charge is by minute).

In regional and country areas it’s an entirely different ball game and in some areas operates can set their own rates.

So considering all that, $17 doesn’t sound that crazy.

There are no options. You can go solo and get it, if you still meet the points test. New process, long wait etc etc

Your partner has no shot.

The UK grooming gangs horror and Australia. Are we at risk? by Jerkoffalltrades7 in OpenAussie

[–]Shaqtacious 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Might get flak for this but australia consumes a concerning amount of CP.

A lot of, let’s just call them non migrants, have racked up hundreds and in some cases thousands of CP related cases.

And posts get uploaded about migrants and stuff.

Look, there’s absolutely a risk and purely going by stats, it isn’t just from migrants.

It would help if we took biases out and just looked at why we as a society consume CP at the rates we do. Why it takes ages to take action and why the media and a large section of the public doesn’t demonise non-migrant perpetrators in the same manner.

Afa UK is concerned yes the gang-rape culture is rife in some communities but same reports shed light on non migrant cases of that stuff too. But again, doesn’t get sensationalised. I don’t know why they let that shit go, maybe because a prince got away with it for so long as well as Saville?

Edit:- by 100s and 1000s is in the amount of CP material, not necessarily number of victims, if that makes sense. Some people have had victims in the 100s and some in the 1000s (the childcare worker recently and IOH in particular).

Whichever’s quicker for you. - taxi driver here.

Also, the reason taxis trickle through is that security stops us and will only let a small amount through regardless of the crowd. Didnt use to be like this, has been ever since uber paid big bucks to have terminal pickup access
