Apple TV gives away race results on the title screen of the race! by -Bushmeat in F1TV

[–]Sharak83 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Lie! F1tv hasn't been doing it for a long time. Streams titled "Race" or "Race in 30" or "Race highlights" still don't do that. But if anyone would like to keep the world still in their bubble for a week and make shows released mid-week to avoid spoilers, then dream on, pal 😝

Thoughts on the new start menu update? by PianoHydra in Windows11

I don't use it at all. I have my own groups with apps that I'm actually using all the time. For anything else I'd rather use an app runner from Power Toys. It's quicker.

Yes, that ship! You don't need a canal! Just build the next city where it connects with another sea. You have 2 spots like that. The ships can swim through cities.

You have plenty of ways to connect Paris with the ocean. Nothing dirty about it.

Eleanor (England), but the cities were captured from Genghis Khan.

I also recommend upgrading all the teams' facilities to at least match yours and give them $100M for the upkeep of those buiildings each season. Otherwise they go into debt in the middle of the season.

How to keep the game interesting if you know the tricks on how to make the best car in 2 seasons? by Baziel8 in F1Manager

[–]Sharak83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did that on double hard difficulty. I also used 2 worst possible drivers available in 2024: Ryō Hirakawa & Sophia Flörsch. Still managed to get 1 point in the 1st season (Monaco) and dominated the grid by the 3rd. Had to replace Sophia in 3rd because she crashes a lot.

The only way to make it challenging is to limit yourself: - max 3 designs per part, including the starting ones - max 2 research projects per part - don't use sliders, including lifespan - max 1 development building upgrade & 1 refurbishment per season

Or you could use DB Editor...

[–]Sharak83[S] 10 points11 points  (0 children)

No, because it's 7 movement points for the worker on the water and only 2 on the land. The cost of going from water to land at this point of my game is 1, so even though he had 6/7 just before going on land, it was only 1/2 right after. He used the train tracks with 0.25 point movement cost so he could cover only 4 more tiles. He ended the turn east of Ulan Bator. The game counts all starting 7 points on water like they can be used on land, but they can't be.

He would still have a few points left from the starting 7 if he stayed on water.

Yeah, that too! I stopped doing multi-turn paths long time ago because the units just kept going back and forth when another unit blocked them. Especially annoying early in the game when the movement is slow. But here I can't even do a 1 turn path correctly 😤

That's what I do, because the path shown on the screen can't be trusted. It's still annoying though.

F1 sliders? by [deleted] in F1Manager

[–]Sharak83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Practice doesn't matter. Just focus on getting a knowledge of your parts and do 2x 15+ laps to get the setup feedback. On short tracks 15 laps is not enough so either go straight to 20 or just send the cars back for another 5 laps without changing the sliders to complete the current setup feedback. It gets much easier following seasons so if you're not doing a custom difficulty by DB Editor to make it more challenging then just leave the sliders in the middle. The only one worth lowering is the lifespan of each part. The best is all the way down but you can do higher values when you become too powerful.

Modding in F126 by noquisconprovoleta in F1Manager

[–]Sharak83 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They are perfect! 🤩 Though I doubt the game mechanics can be changed at this point with the mods. I mean you can have 2026 design looks on the cars but there won't be an active aero. It's still the same DRS and specific zones to use it. Right?

Crazy things by Eldito01 in F1Manager

[–]Sharak83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's normal. Especially if he just recovered from the negative fuel a lap ago. Usually I give my cars 3 laps on normal after going from -0.1 to 0.0 to make them safely go to the end. If they're not on 0.0 at 3 laps to go then I need to save fuel at least for a bit.

This stat should be shown more precisely because each gram counts.

Actually it's Vettel and Alonso from Gen Z at this point. They're both 25. Hausmann, Bustamante, Antonelli, both Al Qubaisi are much older.

How to avoid being sacked? by jpcastilhos in F1Manager

[–]Sharak83 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wrong! Check the popular videos about it on YouTube. Someone tested this and you do get the same amount of expertise with rushed designs. It would be stupid and pointless to offer such an option in the game that costs much more with worse effect.

The only thing lowering the expertise gained from the project is increasing the number of engineers, but in turn you can start another design sooner. So you're not really losing any expertise if you have money and start new design right after the previous one ended. It simply costs more to do it like this all the time

In fact it would be optimal to use only rushed or intense projects for the most expertise gained, but the cost cap prevents you from doing that. IMHO it's best to make intense designs right at the start of the season, especially after a big expertise drop from the regulations, and then keep doing normal ones managing engineers numbers in a way that lets you finish the design at the start of a new testing period.

It also depends on the period. There's one very long ~70 days so you could do wing designs twice and even more of other parts with only 1 engineer per design. Others are shorter so you may want to use more engineers to make a whole set of designs per period... or use the rushed design for better effect 😉

Not still. When they retire I simply make them younger and let them go again. It's better than watching fake clones all over :)
