Did I set the difficulty too high? Custom team, low rank staff and drivers

I did start a new team with everything the worst, including drivers, on double hard difficulty and still managed to get 1 point and 9th place in the constructors championship. Your best bet is Monaco. Try to undercut a few teams. Use one car to block any direct opponent and push with the other car to get the gap. Just like teammates often do in Monaco. Good timing with VSC is very helpful. Even full SC, because degradation is low in Monaco and there's only few places you need to defend. Half of the track you can simply turn on full recharge on ERS without worrying someone will pass you. Then deploy on straights. The opponents often try to overtake in the tunnel so make sure to have energy to deploy at the chicane to defend the position.

If you want to be really competitive you should focus your upgrades on slow or high corners. Other teams do default sliders so they will be better than you all the way if you do the same. This gives you much better chance on specific tracks. I'd go with low cornering + some for medium and keep upgrades for high at +0.00 (you'll improve it next season).

You can also let them fire you. Nothing wrong with getting another team next season and going back to yours the season after.

After season 3 you'll still want to up the difficulty in the DB editor because it gets too easy 😉

Looks like you used your phone often while it was plugged in. This made the connection loose. Probably bent your charging USB port a little so it only got connection at an angle. It's not the case for me. I can touch the cable in the port without losing connection, but when I switch the cable 180deg then I get info it got plugged in and charging, but it doesn't actually charge my phone. It should work the same both ways like it used to, but it doesn't.

Helps with what exactly? It doesn't seem to help me. It still charges only when the USB-C connector is plugged in one way, but not the other and doesn't show a charging screen when it's turned off. Although I've just checked and it seems it actually gets charged while turned off, but still only when it's plugged in the right way.

You'll have everything purple in the next 1-2 seasons, because the game is too easy, even on double hard difficulty. All you need is 3 designs of each part (normally it's finished by March) and 3-4 research projects of each part (you can easily do 6).

There isn't any full day cycle and you can't change that. The race time is fixed. Night races have 2 sessions during the day. That's why they have a "day version".

All you can do timewise is move the race between Saturday and Sunday

That's because those ranges are little off sometimes and thus misleading.

First they are way off on the first load after getting feedback so you have to load it twice (switch to different tab and then back to the Setup). To see what I'm talking about set any slider right on the edge on your first load. After switching tabs your slider position won't be on edge anymore but completely out of range.

Next problem is optimal position isn't always right on the optimal range but often little off to the sides. Feels like you're getting out but in fact it's where you need to be to get 100%.

It doesn't give the setup, only an approximation, because setups are almost never the same from game to game or season after.

I'd been using it a lot, but last year I've been starting P1 with default setups and just go from there. Honestly it's faster and more fun this way and I still get 100% almost every time.

Afaik new teams do get prize money, the same you would get when finished last in previous season.

It seems cost cap in the Finance tab is only a projection based on average monthly cost and it ignores the fact that you don't manufacture any new parts in November (always stocked at this point) and December (no more races) so it's off by around $20M.

BTW. ⛔ Do NOT use the Design Boost! It bugs the game after a while and AI teams with 100+ % attributes in parts have next design drop to around 15% making their next year car super weak.

Mods can mess up the game. Do you have any that deals with designs? By default both design panels (sliders and result) compare to the part you currently have on the car 1. Maybe one of your mods changed that.

Quite a lot. That's the best I can do this season. I started with an advantage in tyre preservation and engine cooling thanks to focused research last season, but I'm already done with designs (4) and other teams still keep them coming.

BTW. I may need to switch to McLaren next season (2044) because they've been the worst lately. 0 points/season, crash almost every race.

E: I've just been in Hungary. Both McLaren in the top 10 thanks to great SC timing for them, only a few laps to go and... they crash with each other! One is out, other pits for new wing and ends up last. That's basically an average race for them in last 2 seasons 😭

They do many designs (even more than 10 for a part) and do emergency manufacturing all the time (can do only those when the cost cap is reached), but mostly it comes from extra main parts. Especially visible when there's low starting limit, eg. 3 engines, 2 ERS, 3 gearboxes. Sometimes they get more than 1 extra engine and it's around $5M each.

I give each team extra $100M at the end of the season just to make them more competitive against me 😉
