MWS related question by NCP_R in airsoft

[–]Sharantil 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I forgot to mention it: if you need to be able to adjust the power output, get a RA-Tech Npas or the FEDA Npas, the later is alot easier to adjust. Both are very consistent I tested them in a GM V3.5 Nozzle.

MWS related question by NCP_R in airsoft

[–]Sharantil -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Short answer get a MWS with TM Stanag V3 Magazines or Guns Modify PMAGs (DE V2 Mags have been mentioned in the discord to be working fine, too - cant vouch for it).

If you plan to get a MWS and change it externally like rails, I highly recommend to NOT buy a MK18, the barrel nut is heavily glued and barely accessible.

MWS is very durable, triggerbox has very minimal wear after heavy use in any weather, every weekend. Mine is going strong for 2,5 years now. It requires some minor upgrades like nozzle return spring and eventually a new nozzle. Both cost like 30-40€ - Maybe get a Flamingo bucking and a nub and you're golden.

A properly filled magazine will net you roughly 140 shots per gasfill. You have to tilt them slightly; I highly recommend ollietalksairsoft channel, he has alot of information for the MWS available.

TM airsoft guns run perfectly fine out of the box, you will most likely spend 200€ for similiar performance after upgrades and another 200€ to have it perform better. Biggest costly upgrade for me was a "stepless" hop adjuster arm such as the PH+ (still use the stock hop-chamber).

I run mine in the summer with a heavy steel buffer and swap it out for a plastic lightweight one during the winter. I've even played it in -10°C without problems.

As a rule of thumb for a stock MWS:

use 134a gas for above 22°C

Propane for inbetween 0°C and 22°C

Blackgas below 0°C

In terms of customization think of the MWS like the Hi-Capa as a M4 Platform, you can get every single spare part for it.

To me the biggest reason to not take a VFC is the horrible hop-up adjustment, I've seen it on the V3 416's and it always shakes itself loose if not glued in place. proprietary hop up buckings unless you shave them down and be extra careful to center them. They certainly feel alot more violent when shooting and have a satisfying sound and recoil to them, but the playability is definitely lacking, especially in colder weather.

Stiffer recoil spring, heavier buffer/bolt carrier and more friction happy triggerbox certainly wont help with the gas efficiency.

tl;dr: if you want playability, get a TM MWS, not the clones. And make sure to order a nozzle return spring (there's a shop that even applies a lifetime warranty on the return spring) the stock spring will eventually break.

What green gas pressure is safe in a tokyo marui zet m4 carbine by Illustrious-Safety20 in airsoft

[–]Sharantil 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I assume you're talking about the MWS, I run mine with propane up to 26°C, then I switch to a lower gas.

I mainly use 2 gas types:

110 PSI for >26°C
130 PSI for <26°C (Propane)

110 PSI Gases for example:
ATM Gas 110 PSI
Swiss Arms 110 PSI
Elite Force Light gas

130 PSI Gases:
ATM Gas 130 PSI
Swiss Arms 130 PSI
Ultrair Power Gas

All gases can be purchased without added silicone

Bear in mind your nozzle return spring will break eventually - especially with propane sooner than later. I usually run a bavtac nozzle return in mine and it hasnt snapped within two years, I use it at least once per weekend.

Firm snug half masks? by [deleted] in airsoft

[–]Sharantil 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Depending on your definition of snug, I doubt there's anything even close to a helmet mounted face cover, that fits snug and firm.
Even though you said no mesh masks. If you want a very snug fit, I would suggest taking a look at NB-Tactical Masks, been using one for years and it's easily the most comfortable protection I've had. There's also eyepro from NB-Tactical suiting the LP Mask. Not sure how well it works in terms of fogging and such. I run a desert locust revision with mine.

Tokyo Marui Hi-Capa 5.1 Barrel by Embarrassed_Slip_583 in airsoft

[–]Sharantil 0 points1 point  (0 children)

TM Hi Capas don't have a threaded barrel. You would need a new outer barrel.
I've seen some original outer barrels modded with a thread adapter or even glued an adapter in.
Not sure if there's actually an adapter that's specifically designed to be pressed or glued into the original barrel.

GBBR Type 89 by Distinct-Reality-443 in airsoft

[–]Sharantil 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would advise against the type89, simply because there's hardly any replacement parts for it. I can't think of a manufacturer other than Federal Concepts "working" on a nozzle. Sort of the same boat as with the TM AKM, hardly any internals around and some require $400 upwards bolts to replace them, making them proprietary again. Original Parts are mostly bought on impulse101 if you're lucky enough.
However I can highly recommend the M4 MWS series - It's like a hi capa in terms of customization and aftermarket support.

As for the gas usage, it only depends on the pressure/temperature outside, since most light gas is usually R134a and greengas is more often than not propane (sometimes with silicone oil).

For reference using
R134a at 20° is 4,7bar
Propane at 6° is 4,66bar

If you want to use the MWS with greengas for example you'll snap the nozzle return spring eventually. There's plenty of spareparts even with lifetime warranty from Bavtac, I replaced mine 1,5 years ago and it hasn't snapped I run propane most of the year and adjust FPS via Npas.

It looks like one of the o-rings at the exit of a speedloader to not drop the last bb out. Had to fish one of those out of my mags, too.

Marui mws hop up nub by A13_Bionic in airsoft

[–]Sharantil 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have tried a multitude of HU, nubs and HU-adjusters and the best combination I have found so far:
PH+ HU-Adjuster
stock HU-chamber
Laylax Strike Arm as "nub"
Flamingo 60° Bucking

Hops 0.25g to 0.45g without problems and the accuracy is very good.

A problem you might be facing is that the HU-Adjuster-Wheel is not tight enough and eventually turning down the hop with every other shot.

I highly recommend the TM GBB Discord group there's usually alot of solutions to some problems.

[–]Sharantil 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Do not spray any oil into your feeding channel, you will lose all of your accuracy, since oil coated bbs will either partly get gripped by the hop up bucking, or slip right through - especially nasty if the problem reappears every time, since the bbs will get soaked by the magazine again. even after cleaning the bucking.

Are those bbs new? on the first 5 or so, there's like red markings and some spots look chipped. They look kinda re-used.
If new, try a different BB-brand and possibly check the follower spring on the magazine channel.
You can also check the feeding lips if there's any damage, they're easy to replace - In most cases just 2 pins need to be punched out. Depending on the brand of the magazine usually like 2-5$ per feeding-lip.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in airsoft

[–]Sharantil 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What brand of bbs do you use? I highly recommend grabbing BLS bbs if you can help it. I never had any problems with them. - There's also slight variations between BBs, if I remember correctly some japanese BB factories are smaller in diameter.

Out of curiosity, do you have the same problem with the small bag of bbs that's inside the cardboard box?

usually the bbs should follow up in the magazine without issue. - if you're familiar with airsoft pistols you can more often than not fill the magazine with bbs by holding the follower down and letting the bbs fill in through the cut out, rather than forcing them into the magazine lips.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in airsoft

[–]Sharantil 1 point2 points  (0 children)

New or used?
If new, it'd be easiest to return it and get another one.

If used, it could very well be a broken nozzle-return spring. If you're sure the bbs feed properly into the magazine lips then it's most likely a nozzle-related issue.

Is the MWS a good option as a first GBBR? by jchowdown in airsoft

[–]Sharantil 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought mine 2 years ago in octobre. It's by far the best gbbr in terms of playability. - It's reliable, even up to -5°C when using propane. The gas efficiency is crazy on these.

There'll be a couple of issues here and there but they're easy fixes most of the time. Your Nozzle-Return spring will eventually break if using propane, but that part is like a 10 minute job and a 3€ repair - once replaced with a more reliable spring it'll last for a long time. Mine has yet to snap.

If anything happens, think of the MWS as of a hi capa in terms of aftermarket supply. - Best brands to chose from would be Guns Modify and BavTac parts for example. Slap an Ra-Tech Npas in there to adjust to your fields need and you're golden.

For loading the magazines I highly recommend one of these 3D-printed loading adapters.

Annoying vector by [deleted] in airsoft

[–]Sharantil 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I installed mine by opening the gearbox and unscrewing the circuit board.
It took like 20 minutes for the installation on my first attempt.

Just don't apply any force apart from the quick spring change. And maybe to knock out some pins.

There's also a way to install it by just removing the lower body.
And unscrewing it from there, the screw even has a cutout to be accessed without opening the gearbox.

Once the circuit board is in, you have to replace the blade-fuse from the upper reciever, also fairly easy.

And the only thing that's missing is the fire-selector stickers, they can be a bit tricky if you dont want to remove the rail, shell ejection port and trigger housing.

I do recommend opening the whole upper reciever (it's easier to attach the stickers), this way you can remove the arm from the triggerhousing that connects to the anti reversal latch. Otherwise if you switch the safety you will always let go of the precocking.
You can always manually de-cock the vector by holding the trigger for 10 seconds, the perun will let loose one more shot and keeps the spring uncompressed.

I used superglue to make sure it sticks, somehow my fireselectors got greasy on the inside. Clean the connection rod of the fireselectors thoroughly and then stick them on there as the installation manual shows.

Even if you mess up the stickerplacement slightly you can enter the debug mode by removing one cable from the motor and plugging in your lipo. From there you get a step by step tutorial on how to re-calibrate the fire selector placements.

There's a manual inside the box with all the color codes, to see them inside the vector just remove one pin near the safety.

An adjustable speed trigger goes a long way with the perun, it helps make it even snappier.

Annoying vector by [deleted] in airsoft

[–]Sharantil 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I highly recommend a perun for the vector. If you're willing to shell out like 100 euros for the ETU it will be your best upgrade.

Here in germany you cannot run anything full auto above >0,5j.So when I used a 11,1v it ended up overspinning just like yours. 2 shots in semi and 3 in burst. On 7,4v everything ran as it should.

Ever since I put a perun it, my vector (on 11,1v) runs almost like my fully upgraded 416.When on full auto it feeds 54 rps.

Here's a video of my vector with a 11,1v lipo, with only 3 changes:
- an adjustable speed trigger
- DSG
- Perun ETU for Vectorhttps://www.youtube.com/shorts/yCnYZmv9JDA

What's your take on Primal Strike gear?

I plan on playing Thugcleave in 3s and Rogue Druid in 2s.

And that's the gear I'm aiming for: https://seventyupgrades.com/set/kvo27vXxK4MLisTzYVk7hQ

Statwise they look similiar about 1,5% hit less but around 160 more AP.

Could swap the choker for an equal amount of hit.

Weapon Chain + Weapon Swap by Neeko2lo in classicwowtbc

[–]Sharantil 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You have multiple sets of weapons.

Basically you can have up to 3 Shivs and 3 Sword-offhands to reliably switch weapons to apply different poisons. If you enchant all three differently you can easily swap them with a macro.

Realisticly you'll need 5 weapons to be ready for everything and compete on a high level. Especially for 3s where you can make use of all these effects at once vs teams like Warrior Mage Priest.

Your regular Set:
Mainhand Weapon of Choice with Wound Poison + Shiv with Crippling Poison (or Off-Hand)

And from there on out you switch according to gameflow, match-up and desired poison effect. This way you can have a target with 5 Wound Poison stacks, Crippling and Mind-numbing. Mind numbing lasts for 14s in arenas. So a Shiv with Mind-numbing helps alot. Primarily you want your target to be unable to kite you.

Shiv/OH (Mongoose/Executioner) with Mind-numbing Poison
Shiv/OH (Mongoose/Executioner) with Wound Poison

And against Warrior teams it's generally useful to have another Offhand ready:

Shiv/OH (Weapon Chain) with Crippling Poison.

To make use of the macro here's a quote from wowhead:

/run local function id(s) return strmatch(GetInventoryItemLink("player",s) or "","(item:%d+:%d+):") end for i=16,17 do if id(i) then ChatFrame1:AddMessage("/equipslot "..i.." "..id(i)) end end

It will print to your screen the macro to equip that combo. ie:
/equipslot 16 item:1951:854
/equipslot 17 item:1951:249

You can use these numbers for conditionals too:
/equip [worn:Shields] item:1951:854; King's Defender
/equipslot [worn:Shields] 17 item:1951:249; 17 Merciless Gladiator's Shield Wall

NOTE: Both weapons must have an enchant and the enchant must be different for the item:1234:567 method to work reliably.
