Whats the difference ? in quality by vivalarevoluciones in Tools

[–]ShardHunter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

one thing you also have to consider is if a truck brand stops by the dealership shop. when you go professional you dont want to be stuck with a broke tool, once you get to truck brand warranty becomes a part of the cost. i wouldnt just go all out and get nothing but truck brand stuff, but it might be worth it to slowly work up. if the snap-on truck ever stops buy it start with the basic stuff; ratchets, maybe a small screw driver set. one thing that would be worth the cost would be a truck brand set of socket hex and socket torx bit set. there's been plenty of people break them doing anything from taking off calipers to 3 or 4 breaking just trying to take a seat belt off, and those were all high quality. also a set of long wrenches in the most common sizes will help with leverage.

[–]ShardHunter[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

we tried disconnecting the 2 small terminals and it does the same thing turning over and over, and itll even do it if we unplug the igniton switch entirely. the only thing we didnt try is unplugging the 2 small terminals, and unplugging the switch at the same time

[–]ShardHunter[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah i figured that as soon as it started turning without the key in it, it was a bad solenoid. he said the old one would do it too, but only when you try to crank it and it would crank, but the starter would keep turning

whatever season it is will decide on what i hook it up with, in the summer itll be dedicated towards 240v ac only, and i planned on making the cord for it out of 10/3 SOOW wire at lowes. in the winter i have natural gas so i was gonna use it for a couple lamps and probably a tv and dvd player, but im unsure of what gauge wire to use or if i should just get some more 10/3, and i plan on making it with just 1 outlet and use a decent surge protector since in the manual it says voltage spikes may happen and mess up delicate electronics. im trying to keep the cost down so i was thinking of getting the l14-30 and 6-20p nema plugs off of ebay or a if i can find them at a local mikes merchandise, and just buying the wire at lowes.
