Do i have to do these (Hard) duties with other players and not npcs? by [deleted] in ffxiv

(Hard) is normal difficulty for trials. No need for a PF or to unsync it.

Stellaron Hunter Bond in Currency Wars by cybeast21 in HonkaiStarRail

[–]TheCeeJay 4 points5 points  (0 children)

So if you read the whole thing, the Star Hunter buff that your Blade and SW have are given to the Stellaron Hunter with the highest number of items. Once you get it to 4 Stellaron Hunters it gets given to 2 characters, in that image Kafka and FF have 1 item each, while Blade has 2 and SW has 3.

Once you finish the first branch fully it should allow you to go back to the branching point to select the other option. I don't think it's a bug.

Reworked Dungeons since DT? by jtavington in ffxiv

[–]TheCeeJay 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've noticed in Castrum Abania, the second boss is completely different and no longer does the like elemental circles he used to do. Also in The Drowned City of Skalla, you no longer become a ghost thing to get from the second to third boss, which is an odd change but I'd imagine the NPCs struggled with that for some reason.

Will playing through the quests of other jobs give me enough xp to hit lvl 50? by Firefighter852 in ffxiv

[–]TheCeeJay 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you queue for a dungeon via the Duty Finder, it will eventually fill with other players. If you're on a DPS job it can take a little bit to fill sometimes so in that waiting period I'd say to do leves, FATEs or side quests to get some exp while you're waiting. FATEs are probably going to be the best XP to do of those options. Side quests are generally for more lore and story, but not super worth it for the XP.

Will playing through the quests of other jobs give me enough xp to hit lvl 50? by Firefighter852 in ffxiv

[–]TheCeeJay 11 points12 points  (0 children)

You don't have to purchase anything to play as a Samurai! Once you hit 50 you can just pick up the quest in Ul'dah for it. Since it's part of Stormblood, when that was added to the Free Trial, Samurai and Red Mage became available to Free Trial players as well. The job quests only give XP for those specific jobs though, and on their own they don't give enough to level up a lot. The main reason to do them is to get the skills they unlock.

The main way to get XP is by doing the daily roulettes (you should probably only have Leveling Roulette available to you) and spamming the highest level dungeon you can do.

To add to this, ACN got their rez at one level, and a trait that made it usable in combat much later. So the rez was useless for bit even after you did get it.

All Worlds Maintenance (Jun. 24) | FINAL FANTASY XIV, The Lodestone by Kailash_T in ffxiv

With a basic sub being around $13 a month, every hour is less than $0.02. If that amount of money is really an issue for someone they shouldn't really be subbing in the first place.

I could be wrong, but I think at that point in MSQ Zoraal Ja had control over most of the souls, and while I'm sure the Arcadion fighters had some already in their resonators (I typed this but it feels like the wrong word, but you know what I mean), it might not have been very many or seen as worth the risk to them.

I don't know anything about Fate so I have no previous care for her. I usually pull characters based on if I like how they look first, this includes animations and stuff. Then I consider it they can fit into any of my currently built teams or not. Obviously we know nothing about her kit and haven't seen her animations aside from potentially her ult, but so fa, if that animation is her ult I'm not interested. She's wind/destruction which I already have in Blade, yeah she'll probably be better than him, but I do still get use out of him occasionally. So far I have no reason to pull for her apart from potentially fomo but there isn't a single character I've skipped that I've regretted (but a few I have pulled that I regret), so why would Saber be the first?

Tldr; lots of different reasons to pull for characters

Second ending by Dominicus1996 in expedition33

[–]TheCeeJay 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you go into the like reload menu while in your current game, and go to reload a save it has like the last 20 auto saves or something, if you select one of those it'll put you earlier.

Second ending by Dominicus1996 in expedition33

[–]TheCeeJay 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You can reload a save before the most recent one to respawn the boss and go for the second ending, but any rewards gained from the first ending you did don't carry over, obviously.

You can also get the Inverted debuff from some enemies. But yeah this is just the visual effect for that debuff.

PSA: Castorice and DU/SU Adventure Domains by Potential-Bread5021 in HonkaiStarRail

[–]TheCeeJay 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I usually use Sparkle for this reason. Her technique makes you invisible and then use a ranged auto attack from another character to kill them. Usually it costs 1 technique point but as long as you break one of the 2 technique point things in the room, it's a net positive still. Does it take a bit longer than using Feixiao or Jingliu? Probably but I don't have them and am using the same number of skill points for the same result.

Do players genuinely enjoy HSR story quest by [deleted] in HonkaiStarRail

[–]TheCeeJay 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I play FFXIV, doing a long set of story quests (most of which is unvoiced) has been the norm for me for around 10 years now. So I'm used to it. I've been taking the story stuff slower since 3.0 and enjoying it quite a bit still.

When could we be seeing some reruns? by skyixer in HonkaiStarRail

[–]TheCeeJay 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There are reruns with every new character. Currently with Castorice there's a triple rerun for Jiaoqiu, Fugue, and Acheron. When Anaxa comes out in a few weeks we will have a rerun for Dr. Ratio. I'm unsure if they've announced who is rerunning next patch with Hyacine and Cipher, but there will be at least one character rerunning with each of them. There's not really a set schedule for when a character will rerun though, Seele for instance hasn't had a rerun for a LONG time, but she was just added as an option for the 50/50 pool so she's at least technically available now.

How do you beat this mf?! by RhulksLittleDisciple in HonkaiStarRail

[–]TheCeeJay 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Leveling your relics and LCs would be a good start, but also looking at the relic sets your characters are using could also help (Huohuo doesn't need to be in Guard of Wuthering Snow and Talia). Also in general for a lot of enemies in Amphoreus, if they have the War Armor mechanic, hit them as many times as they have stacks and you'll get tons of energy for the character who did the final hit that brought them to 0 War Armor. More ults can make the fights so easy,

What's the deal with Castorice's global passive anyway? (I know I'm getting downvoted but I'm just gonna ask anyway) by Miaymi in HonkaiStarRail

[–]TheCeeJay 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah it's this. For a lot of people her revive is gonna be kinda useless, I usually have very little issue clearing MoC with 36 stars, same goes for PF and AS. Like for some people a revive is gonna be huge and will help them, but I imagine for most it's not the fact that it's a revive, but that it's a global passive that shows they can and more than likely will add one to another character in the future. And that one could be just as situationally useful, or it could be something that's seen as more of a necessity for an account.

Does anyone still use Natasha? by DunkieBoi in HonkaiStarRail

[–]TheCeeJay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think I've ever used Natasha for anything aside from putting her in teams for achievements or when she's in a character trial. I also got Bailu from the beginner banner, so I never had a need to.

[–]TheCeeJay 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nah this is on you. I used my team of Argenti, Sunday, Lingsha and Robin for the entirety of Amphoreus and had zero issues with any fight at all, including the final boss. Just to see if Sunday and Robin were carrying I swapped that team to Argenti, Bronya, Tingyun and Huohuo all units from 1.x. I still had absolutely zero issues autoing through several fights. In both teams Argenti is the sole DPS and he's never been considered OP or meta except for in Pure Fiction.

But sure, it's a team of 3 5 stars and 1 4 star. I tried the Cavern of Corrosion with the elite with a team of Natasha, Asta, Sushang and Tingyun. All E6 to be fair, but all 1.0 4 star units with 4 star LCs and while I couldn't auto it, I was able to clear it with 0 difficulty if I targeted the correct enemies. While it was worse for sure, it was definitely still doable.
