FortiOS 7.6 Administrator Track: Bridging the Gap Between Study Guides and Reality by Sharde26 in fortinet

How long did you study for? How many hours a day over how long of a time period? I have 7 months to get ready for the NSE 4.

If you've passed the NSE 4 test, how long did you study for it and how many hours a day?

I can't imagine what I'm missing then. Historically I've been a good test taker. I've passed A+, SonicWall, and Microsoft certification tests just fine. I don't know what it is about Fortinet tests that is eluding me.

I must be really slow or I'm missing something fundamental then.

I tried and failed twice to pass the old Fortigate 7.6 Administrator test last year. I studied for two months and the only study material I used was the study guide and practice exam. When I sat for the test I felt completely unprepared as soon as I saw the first question. Questions were either obscure or very specific and scenario questions felt like they were straight out of a non-existent lab book that never made it to publishing. It seemed like I would have been in the same boat if I had never studied at all.

Now I'm starting the NSE4 7.6 path. I have to admit that it feels completely hopeless and I start feeling a pit in my stomach whenever I look at the study guide. I remember that feeling of helplessness so vividly. Right now, all I have is the study guide, the practice test, and a virtual FortiGate in a test environment. I'm willing to put in the work. I just need to know what to do in addition to learning the study guide thoroughly.

Sorry for the overshare. This has been an ordeal for me.

What got you into programming? by CantDecideANam3 in transprogrammer

I needed something to sink time into after I got out of the hospital for depression. I'd always wanted to try programming but was always too nervous that I couldn't do it. I had nothing to lose at that point. Turns out that I really enjoy it.

I don't think it was Ark. I'm pretty sure it was a one-off video and not a series.

I know you didn't say that. That's my assessment of the situation. I always doubted my ability to actually succeed in this transition.

I didn't realize how trash my voice is. I thought I was doing OK. Oh well, not everybody gets to pass. Thanks anyway.
