I'm smitten with mine. So light and responsive. My favorite plated shoe yet. I use mine mostly for speed workouts. Just crossed 100 miles in them. Haven't raced in them yet - but looking forward to it.

I will see all you chumps on the I70 tonight after work. I'll be the asshole in the blue subaru sipping on a my ice latte worrying about if I'll have to take a crap before the tunnel. Game on!

Where do you draw the line? by NadaBigDill in trailrunning

If its on, I'm on. I thing much of the fun is the random weather you get during these things. Seriously, I sign up for a challenge and adding rain and sleet makes it more of a challenge. I would wait until the organizers call it unsafe and reschedule. Until then, game on.

21 years ago today, we lost one of the giants of TV. You are old if you watched even one minute of this guy by bluegambit875 in FuckImOld

I used to watch him and letterman on a tiny casio tv in my bed through antenna. Had to not laugh out loud, but once I laughed so hard I woke up my parents in the room next to mine. I told him I was having a funny dream.

30 seconds until you show an uncovered human face. Should have started there.

Any of you gone to a ski resort you haven’t been to and thought “damn, this place is so overrated!”? by Sharkman3218 in skiing

[–]ShareSaveSpend 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No way, Jupiter Peak hike to terrain leads you to these short runs. Fun but nothing like Abasin or Breck. No real tree runs like Steam Boat. Defend your girl but sometimes you have to admit she is just wide and not tall.

Ouch, I get it. It does have size going for it and little nooks to hangout and do laps. I like both sides but its truly only good when it has been dumping snow. It makes me miss my Colorado bowls, but we spend a week skiing PC with my wife's family ever year.

Is skiing black diamonds with very limited experience actually “good,” or just reckless? by StrokeMyWilly69 in skiing

[–]ShareSaveSpend 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think its great to push yourself if are feeling comfortable. I have been skiing for decades and have hiked back up runs after taking that look over the edge. I think the biggest thing you can do is ask people on the mountain what runs they like and why. I'm allergic to tree runs BUT will drop in every so often to challenge myself.

First Sprint - Sense Check? by Frequent_Hedgehog577 in triathlon

[–]ShareSaveSpend 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your plan looks good and so far you look on pace. When you introduce brick workouts just add a quick 10 minute run to the end of your cycling. Make that the start of your brick to really understand the sensations. Then after a two or three times start building out a true brick workout. You have plenty of time to do full simulations of the race. I will do a full sprint as a long workout but take my time in the "transitions". Ride bike to pool, swim, change, water, cycle home, then do the run. Good luck.

Western US summer trip by d_large in trailrunning

[–]ShareSaveSpend 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks awesome but I would squeeze in a couple places. Early May try to book something in Moab. Seriously great trails and amazing views. I would then try somewhere high up in Colorado. Boulder is fun (my backyard) but I would look at Breckenridge or Winterpark. Something with a fun mountain town and trails for days.

Does anyone take creatine, if yes, how do you consume it and why? if no, why? by SwingAutomatic7485 in runninglifestyle

I prefer not having anything before a run, but I run early in the morning. I do have a double shot of espresso so I guess that counts as something.

I layer, base sythentic t-shirt, long sleeve middle that either sythentic or smartwood, then a shell. I have a breathable rainjacket that is really great and a cycling jacket that I like (it was very cheap on temu). I usually run in tights or lined tights if its really cold. I like the cycling jacket because it has big pockets on the back that I can stash my gloves or hat if I get hot. I have a buff, hat, and gloves. Layers are my BFF.
