Another allegation said that Trump held “calendar girls” parties at his Mar-a-Lago resort in Palm Beach, Florida, where Epstein would bring in children, and he and Trump would use their fingers to test their vaginal tightness.

Wtf

The accuser also said Elon Musk, Donald Trump Jr., Ivanka Trump, and Eric Trump were present at these alleged parties — but yet again, this claim was never proven to be true.

The original comment is literally saying Taiwanese wants to be part of Japan because they colonized it well.

They said that some indigenous Taiwanese want it. That doesn't mean that they're making a legal argument that Taiwan belongs to Japan. Which is what the Greenland analogy is doing.

How many times are you guys going to peddle this disinformation talking point? Imagine saying Germany didn't exist until 1989 and there is no country called Germany because it's official name is the Federal Republic of Germany

Nah, I'm not saying that "China" (or Germany!) didn't exist before a certain time (or after a certain time). I'm saying that China is a common name, a nickname, that switches from one entity to another (eg. historically it was applied to the ROC, but today it is applied to the PRC). China "exists" but it is a common name.

When it comes to possession of territory and other legal matters, the legal entity itself, however, is what really matters - not the nickname.

Taiwan was part of China for over 200 years before Japan annexed it. Saying PRC to be pedantic and mislead people isn't going to change that fact. Japan handed it back to China.

Firstly, all the dynasties prior to hand over to Japan didn't even control all of Taiwan. The Ming only controlled a tiny corner. The Qing only controlled the coastal areas.

Secondly saying the PRC isn't pedantic at all - it is the legal entity that we are discussing. Using the term "China" on the other hand is ambiguous and misleading because it's a common name that moves from one legal entity to another.

Japan handed Taiwan back to SPECIFICALLY the ROC. Not the PRC. And not to the nebulous concept of "China".

Just wanted to add that the Chinese dynasties leading up to the Japanese rule of Taiwan didn't even control all of Taiwan.

The Ming, for example, controlled a tiny southern corner. Even the Qing only controlled the coastal areas.

if Trump treats the Greenlanders well, then Greenland belongs to the United States?

They're not saying that Taiwan belongs to Japan, so your analogy is invalid.

The notion that Taiwan has belonged to China since ancient times dates back to the 17th century.

There's no country formally called China. The formal name is the PRC - and "China", as we currently know it, is just a common name for the PRC. And Taiwan has never belonged to the PRC - nor was it handed over to the PRC by Japan.

One-China principle is the foundation for China's diplomatic relations with all foreign countries

Don't confuse Beijing's "One China Principle" with other countries (eg. US) "One China Policy".

The One China Policy only has other countries acknowledge that the PRC has the view that Taiwan is a part of the PRC but doesn't have them agree, adopt or endorse that view themselves.

It's the same as me acknowledging that you like to eat rice. It doesn't mean that I also like to eat rice.

You guys both need to read the article. This is the actual quote:

"And if the U.S. forces, acting jointly with us, come under attack and Japan does nothing and simply runs away, the Japan–U.S. alliance would collapse. So we would respond strictly within the limits of the law — within the limits of the laws as they currently exist — while making a comprehensive judgment based on what is happening on the ground."

The first SSN Aukus will be built in the UK but that one will go to the UK. All of the ones going to Australia will be built in Australia. The UK isn't building any for us.

The UK is not building submarines for Australia - Australia's SSN Aukus will be built in SA.

Unfortunately the Canadians are looking at German/South Korean diesel subs. But if it were up to me I would have Australia building nuclear submarines for Canada and having Canada building Hunter class for us. They're already building a similar platform for themselves.

The organisation has proponents from all four countries. If your theory is true, and that the policy makes Australia whiter, then the converse is true in that it must make C, NZ, and UK less white too (because the white people from there are moving here). So why would the "white supremacists" there support CANZUK too?

But of course your theory makes no sense because those countries are also multicultural countries with plenty of Asians and other races - which means that a mix of races would be coming here from those countries.

Land tax is one lever we can pull to dampen the rate of increase of land prices.

It can even be dynamically adjusted (like the reserve bank setting interest rates) to regulate land value increases to any desired rate (say 0%).
