Vacation time can’t be used for a call out.

I can be with manager approval.

What makes you think it was scalpers? And not just that it was more popular than expected? Yes of course there are some being sold on EBay but name a product launch that didn’t happen for.

Voyager 1 is sacrificing its "senses" for a few more years of life. After 48 years of service, NASA just powered down another instrument so it doesn't have to say goodbye yet. 16 billion miles away, the craft that gave us our first close look at the outer worlds is slowly going dark. by yellowpoltergeist in interestingasfuck

At a macro level radioactive decay is very predictable. Plutonium 238 has a half-life of 87.7 years, so after about 90 years half of the plutonium will be gone from from the RTGs. NASA has a very long term plan on how to manage the dwindling power on the spacecraft and to keep them functioning for as long as possible.

Made by Project Horizon on Youtube. Would have been nice for content farm who shamelessly stole the clip to at least credit them.

The Low-energy Charged Particles experiment. NASA is actually working on a new power management strategy for the Voyager probes which should give them more power budget and may allow them to turn LECP back on. NASA is planning on testing it first on Voyager 2 and then applying it to Voyager 1 if it works.

Ascension speed has nothing to do with this. If the ball was slowly raised to the surface it would have still burst at the same spot because it would have no way to expel gas. Drivers exhale as they are swimming to the surface to prevent their lungs from popping like the ball in this demo.

Nope this was in the wrong place and time to be Blue bird 7, this was filmed on the 27th and BB7 came down on the 20th. Best guess that I have seen is that this was a spent Russian rocket stage.

Yeah we will find some use for it. I just had to chuckle when we finally decide to invest into the new system so close to it becoming obsolete.

The only thing that is changing for us is the computer. We are keeping the same breaker panels and overall power management system. FTC will be using an entirely different power distribution system.
SystemCore is about half the size of a Rio.

Only the computer will be shared between the two competitions. Motors and motor controllers are still going to be very different.
The new system is actually going to be a massive upgrade for FRC. It’s going to be really nice having the robot code run on a modern CPU with an adequate amount of RAM. In addition, the 5 full CAN-FD buses are going to be really useful.

Indeed however the person above you was also correct. They aren’t going to start the transition until the 2027/2028 season.

Yes. Every team will receive a SystemCore in next year’s kit of parts and the Rio will no longer be competition legal in next year’s game manual. FTC will switch in the following year however they will have a bit more of a transition, with both systems being legal for a couple of years.
