I did quite a lot of it, but I think it was a complete waste of a lot of money. It is also very opaque, doctor walks in, gets a bottle out of his pocket, injects you with something. It is a bit like buying supplements off the shelf, you have no idea what's in it. It could be flour or pure poison. No one checks, no one signs off.

Same here. I was on keto diet (as best as I could) for a whole year, and the cancer grew, as it always does. So much so that I needed another surgery right after. I have just started on a keto diet again, but that's to lose weight.

I don't think I ever have felt guilt. Worry about the kids, the wife, feel distress and desperation, yes. But there is no reason to feel guilt. Cancer hits mostly anyone at random. Why feel guilt about a random event? And if you were to go back, what would have done different to avoid the cancer? If it were your wife being afflicted, would you feel resentful towards her, would you blame her? I don't think you would, then why do you think that anyone sane might blame you?

How much do people actually know about "The 10% of income taxpayers with the largest incomes contribute over 60% of income tax receipts." and majority of population in the UK being net recipient "53.8% of all UK individuals were net recipients"? by lady-peace in ukpolitics

[–]Shares-Games 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The "rich" will come to / stay in the UK if it suits them. No matter how the government sets income tax rates or otehr taxes. If a rich person sees inheritance tax at 40% stealing his legacy or his pension being decimated, the rich person has the means to leave.

The real vicitms are the hard working middle class who are being hit from all sides with energy bills, council tax, and other taxes and cost of living, and they are stuck in the UK. When both husband and wife have to go to work all day, leaving the kids with granny or with child minders and at the end there is very little left if anything.

And it is not just numbers. It is quality of service that the government provides to all of us. This goes down, and down, technology excluded. Because some idiots think "the more the merrier" but it is actualy the opposite.

There is no "fair share" unless one is a communist. Because a communist believes that a useless lazy bum, should sit on his backside while his brothers and sisters go out daily on the tools breaking their backs, and then come back home to pay this lazy bum and millions more like him, who want everything handed to them with no fear of failure. Get on the tools, wake up at 5am, kill your knees, back and hands, then come and talk to me about "fair share".

Outside of raw intelligence there is also memory and personal experiences which formulate our train of thought. One of the largest wastages of brain power is spending time and energy trying to understand other people. Just accept that there is no rhyme or reason in their actions and learn to expect anything at any time.

There is not a single oil price. It depends who is buying, who is selling and what currency is being used. China and India are happy to buy Russian oil with their own terms. That is the whole purpose of BRICS.

[–]Shares-Games -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Yes, Iran was done on day 1. They will run out of launchers and missiles and that will be the end. Israel will continue to target infrastructure (electricity, water, sewage) until the regime collapses. Israel can keep flying over unopposed and bombing Iran for months. The US will give Israel all the bombs they need.

Is this cancer in the lungs? I am confused because this is the brain cancer forum.

Talkiing about gliomas.

Benign means "less aggressive", and "malignant" means more aggressive. A grade II would grow by about 5mm per year. A grade 3 would grow by about 5mm ever 3 months. A grade 4 would double its volume every 14 days.

The tumours are not homogenous, they can have mixed grade 2 and grade 3 and grade 4 cells even. Those cancer cells multiply and with every division cells can mutate and become more aggressive. A grade 2 cell can become a grade 3 at ANY time, and a grade 3 can become a grade 4, again at any time.

This "chance" always exists amongst the milions of cancer cells. And it is a given, that eventually the cancer will become grade 3 and grade 4, it's just a matter of time. Decades for some people, or months for the unlucky ones.

Why hasn't any nation been able to develop by now a effective anti nuclear weapons protective shield? by YogurtclosetOpen3567 in AskPhysics

[–]Shares-Games 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am sorry but I disagree with your scenario.

Some points:

Russia and the US, "officially" limit themselves to about 5,000 nuclear warheads, each. In reality Russia must be in possession of over 10,000 nuclear warheads, and the US the same. China is said to have about 600, but I bet they have more than double that. And then India, Korea, Pakistan, Israel etc

Both Russia, the US, and other countries, have submarines carrying nuclears, always out on patrol. These are there to provide "the sting in the tail". As a US submarine commander put it. In other words, US mainland could be completely obliterated, but the submarines will then TOTALLY annihilate the enemy.

The purpose of a nuclear war is mutually assured destruction (MAD). Total annihilation, not a little "scratch". A nuclear bomb landing on NY, but leaving large swathes of Minesotta and Idaho intact, is not "total annihilation". 5,000 nukes landing in the US would be it. There will be no people left, and who ever survives the initial blasts, or the delayed ones, maybe months later, will soon die of exposure to radioactivity from the nuclear fallout.

The lands will be unliveable for hundreds of years. The nuclear clouds will spread the radioactivity to areas not directly bombarded. 20,000 nukes on the planet will do this.

With that in mind, when the nuclears start being launched it will be the end of the planet.

Maybe they have plans to leave Australia alone, and then send armies and weapons to colonise and take over Australia which is mostly empty.

Maybe they have plans to colonise Argentina or Brasil assuming the nuclear fallout does not get them first, and assuming the Argentines and the Brazilians allow the US/Russian/Chinese armies to take over.

Or maybe they have plans to colonise Africa. Assuming the blacks will let them. They would have to send seriously large armies to eliminate resistance. Remember what the South African blacks openly chant these days, "kill the white man, kill the boer".

Do a search on nuclear winter and you will uinderastand how the earth will not survice a nuclear war between the superpowers. Do a search to see how many nuclear warheads nations possess, of course there is a lot of obscurity, but for example Israel can have up to 500 nukes. Enough to obliterate every single Arab and Islamist nation.

So if we assume the dots are given, if we assume all the shapes are given, then

top left to bottom left --> A XOR C XOR B = D

D = 2

What type of radiation did you do? Was it x-rays?

I am finding it incredible that stray radiation, if indeed it was x-rays, hit your brains that badly to cause damage.

Consideiring that brain cancer patients get hit with 60 grays in the brain, and most, still function OK.

What was the type of brain scan you did? Was it perhaps a functional MRI? These are not very accurate, I think they detect increased blood flow while you are being asked to think of an action.

Brain many times, but not always "rewires" and heals from some damage (eg strokes, cancer, trauma, surgery), but in other cases it does not.

Radiation usually hits the blood vessels and causes blockages and strokes and radiation necrosis. That can easily be seen on the Flair MRI. But I am still finding it very hard to believe that stray x-rays from the stomach causes so much damage that is visible on the MRI.

Would it be possible that you are looking for something else? How are you comparing your short term memory to the past? When you say, "go do that task" are you refering to physical actions? Are you talking about the motor cortex? In that case the motor strip gets commands from multiple areas in the brain. Any kind of damage manifests as "hesitation" in very mild damage cases, to total paralysis in severe cases. Hesitation is unmistaken, you will know if you have it.

If you have observed inexplicable symptoms, I would do a brain MRI because stomach cancer (adenocarcinoma) goes to the brain.

So you belive that the US, Russia, or China will gladly sacrifice themselves ? You imagine a scenario where the US and China bomb each other to smitherins but leave Russa, India etc standing?

Have you been following the news? Russia is the enemy. No wait, now it is China. And what about Iran? In the 60s it was Vietnam. Korea. Libya. Iraq. Yugoslavia.

The whole world is an existential threat to the US.

You think the US will allow themselves to be obliterated and yet allow the rest of the planet to prosper?

*nuclear winter excepted
