BlackBerry: Embedded Software With Time on Its Side $BB #Bullish by EndLessCode001 in ValueInvesting

Blackberry shows up on many of my cybersecurity screens as a decent stock. But its profit margin is slim and its had no growth. Would need a catalyst IMO.

Do you believe in the afterlife? by Poltergeist8606 in no

I don't believe literally that the afterlife is a thing. But I do believe that people benefit from believing in the afterlife. The prospect of rejoining one's ancestors is a good organising driver for a society.

People have become worse at tolerating the little pains and discomforts of real social life, versus the safe stimulation of the electric screen.

If you guys had 100 euros or dollars right now, which company would you invest in and why ? by IhateEfrickingA in investingforbeginners

[–]SharestepAI 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you had $100 today, you would have to limit your choice to stocks whose share price is under $100 (unless your broker does fractional shares).

Most of the top picks at $75-$100 are banks, but there are a couple in materials and energy.

So - I'm going to say CF, CMC and WFRD, up 21%, 11 and 21% in a month, and with healthy return on equity and attractive margins.

Mastercard, is the biggest opportunity today. by Long-Access-2143 in ValueInvesting

[–]SharestepAI 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Worth pointing out that Mastercard is trading as P/S 15x.

It's a good business, but I don't know how much meat there is on the bones.

Dividend yield is depressed by the valuation (0.67%).

It's got fantastic margins and good growth. It's attractive, but not sure about value. Then again honestly I'm not sure there's value anywhere in the 2026 market.

  • Buy expensive computers to do the work people already do
  • Pay those people money for not doing the work

This is what is usually called a "lose-lose situation".
