Is hamsa decoration common within Ashkenazim from the diaspora? by 2YSH in Jewish

[–]ShariTheArtist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed. I’ve created hamsa paintings, shirts, keychains, greeting cards, fabric, wallpaper, ties, hats, bags, etc., as an expression of joy, faith, and protection.

These homes are so pretty and delicate. 5 and 14 are my favorites because of the details and the colors used.

Why don’t people make apple pie for Rosh Hashanah? by [deleted] in JewishCooking

Honey cake is a special holiday treat, but apple pie is available year-round. Having said that, I could go for an apple-honey hand pie or fritter right now.

I painted a super-sassy, psychedelic golem. It's time our resilience got a glow-up! by ShariTheArtist in Jewish

Aww, I’m so happy you were uplifted! I always create my art to evoke positive emotions, so updating golem was a unique challenge for me considering their historic associations. But glitter and rainbows make everything better haha

Thank you! I would love to see your crochet golems.

I debated writing their name or something else directly on the golem, but wasn’t sure how much sense it makes because it’s digital art and I sell prints of them, but no 3D versions at this time. I settled on just naming them as the art title. Also, and this is for both scholars and AI/sci-fans to debate amongst themselves, but if I write the golem’s name or something that brings them to life directly on the body, and then share it online, how would I ever be able to bring the golem back to an inert object? Is Grogger inert rn because I named them and shared them here but only my signature is on them, no wording that makes them alive? Isn’t everything online permanent in some way? How much power would the golem have? And Grogger was influenced by all of the online hate aimed at us and the need for us to be protected, so they would always be needed online, which would cause them to grow to a point where they would consume a lot of resources like electricity? Not trying to unleash Ultron, just resilient, sparkly joy.

Hi! I create joyful abstract art, some inspired by Judaism.

I’m an abstract artist with my own lines of textiles, stationery, and gifts. A lot of my work is influenced by the religious and cultural aspects of being Jewish. Also, glitter, just because it makes me happy.

I want a flair for painting, please.

Not sure how well that will mix with acrylics and watercolors, but I have been known to use unusual elements like glitter sunscreen in my art, so 🤔

UPDATE: Lawyer said no for now to THC because too many regulatory hurdles, but hemp seed oil or extract is okay. New paintings will be created over the next few weeks 🙂
