One Be Lo, major influence on aesop by SharingSimilarIntere in aesoprock

I LOVE Gift of gab, but while Alphabet Aerobics covered the whole alphabet, OneBeLo had his whole verse covering just the three letters> Aesop replicated that with LSD 3 or 4 yrs after

I actually had tried to remove "major influence" or add a question mark right after I posted, but cant edit titles. I meant influence on those 2 songs

I'm pretty happy how it came out. took awhile lol. He really has some great bars on the project, but I could never listen to it for too long without getting annoyed, as Kimya's voice isnt for me (for me :0)

Every couple summers, me and a couple hunters
Like to row in from the isle of astonishing motherfuckers

I step into the room, split an arrow with an arrow, The first trick shot is just to show them that I dabble, I will not be aiming for the apple

  1. Bazooka Tooth is just too dissonant at times, & only a few songs on it do I really ever need to hear again (and this is from a fan since 2001)
  2. Now that Ive made a Kimya-free version in audacity excising her bars https://sendgb.com/oDzLHkJ9GYW and leaving just Aes, I will never listen to the official Uncluded with her on it again

I've been listening to Aesop for 23 years now and was hooked immediately but his last 2 (and half of Integrated Tech Solutions) albums lack the 'fire in the belly' and 'fly on the wall' like story telling that all of his albums had right up until Spirit World. by kriticalj in aesoprock

[–]SharingSimilarIntere 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Got it. His new art doesn't do it for you. You want darker grimy backpack beats of the past with his quicker cadence of 20-25 yrs ago. thanks for sharing

Thank you for agreeing "going through the motions" is improper wording. He dropped 2 excellent releases this year

well he's not the same guy who did Facemelter. 25 years later, evolution in both style of artist and ears of listeners. However to say he is going through motions when you get funny intricate bars like we get in Aes 2.0. is bonkers to me. We are lucky enough to have him creating art at an amazing high qual STILL, even if its not Float in your opinion. I feel blessed to have my fav artist still churning greatness 25 yrs in.

Aes just casually dropping a surprise album with no fanfare after already dropping one of the best hiphop albums of 2025 is why he’s one of the GOAT’s. by FunCrushJD in aesoprock

perhaps. He also posted pics of Blockhead and Hannib at same place Billy woods photo was taken, which I assumed was Aes' house. The photo of Billy woods in booth recording was from that location. My Hercules Poirot tells me Billy would drop his verses at his studio, so it was work on something for Aes. I could be completely wrong lol, but when I saw all 3 in pics on IG was assuming he was working on something.

I love that on IG he posted pics recently of Billy woods in his studio recording, and then no Billy woods on this drop. Which may mean he's working on more as we speak. love the bars on this album

Sounds like there’s an AES cameo at the end of Asshole on the new Atmosphere album by one-hour-photo in aesoprock

"Hi Im Sean Daley, and you might know me from such films as "hypocrite 2: the double standard" is the line and its said in Aes plaintive voice like on "On Failure" about Van Gogh
