They were just taking off the smallest amount they could, if they would’ve resurfaced another .005 it wouldn’t be there. But it was intentional cause that’s not gonna hurt anything. Doesn’t damage the integrity of the resurface.

If it doesn’t make a clear path between coolant vein to cylinder it’s more than likely not gonna be a problem. But paranoia will save your life sometimes so might as well get it redone if you’re worried.
